Val Young?

Can someone tell me a bit more about her? I remember her song "if you should ever be lonely", that's a great track. Whatever happened to her? Why can't find her cds anywhere? Is it worth buying thge Rick James and Friends cd for her 2 tracks?

I remember Val Young! She was a Rick James protege. She wore a blond wig, looking like a black Marilyn Monroe. Her debut album 'Seduction' was released in 1985,featuring two hit singles...the title track and "If You Should Ever Be Lonely".The latter song is excellent....

If you should ever be lonely
Think of the times....think of the moments we've shared
music

Not sure what happened to her career after that.

You know what,I'm gonna go out and get that compilation too. It's probably the only place where we can get those two Val Young jams ("Seduction" and "If You Should Ever Be Lonely").

Hey dancerella...I finally got that "Rick James and Friends" compilation. The two Val Young tracks are superb!! But I think the rest of the CD is just okay.It includes one song by Process and the Doo Rags (a remake of "The Bells") but it doesn't include their well-known debut hit "Stomp and Shout".And where is "Party All The Time" by Eddie Murphy?

I'm not sure but I think she married one of the Doo-Rags. Anyways, I liked "Seduction" that was Rick James producing at his best.

I agree, I also bought it just for her 2 tracks. Everything else is ok but I have most of it already. Party all the time should be on it as well.
