His tastes may not be the most varied, but I think Anx's tastes are definitley the coolest. Stuff like:

Sonic Youth
Diamanda Galas
The Residents
Peaches
New Order
David Bowie
Hole
Bauhaus
etc.

I don't think it's possible for Anx to like any music that really sucks. He needs to hang out with thesexofit or something and develop a taste for pop-crapola (sorry thesexofit, you know what I mean). Then maybe I'll nominate him for most varied musical taste.

Me and anxiety are worlds apart musically. Complete opposites lol

virtually everyone that posts in this forum fit the bill, but I'd say that you, paligap, CinisterCee, TheRealFiness, MinnieG, Supa, lilgish, sextonseven, OdysseyMiles and several others are ones I can rely on to be the most conversant of many styles of music.
Them folks make me seriously want to dig in their crates. nod

And I should say the same for you.

And krayzie sure knows a bunch too!

I have to add Byron to this mix. He's sent me some bomb ass mixes. I'll never forget popping one of his mixes in my player to hear that instrumental "Frankenstein" come blasting out. Instant flooring faint He sent me a mix titled "I'm the Bith you hated". I love that title! biggrin

Sound Directions is the newest creation from producer and arranger Madlib (one half of Madvillain). The group began as an offshoot of Yesterdays New Quintet in 2003 as a part of Madlib's "Shades of Blue" album.

"The Funky Side of Life" represents Madlib's first full length collaboration with session musicians on drums, guitar, keys, and brass.

Here's two tracks off the album that will be released on Tuesday.

There are loads of other orgers I love for their own each and individual reasons but when it comes to variety, you are the full package rolled into one person. You absolutely amazed me when I was looking for the artist of a particular song and you came back with a local band from Jackson called Freedom.

Other favorites are....

David Eye
Hotlegs
TheRealFiness
SuperNova
blackguitaristz
paligap
RipHer2Shreds
paisleypark4
CinisterCee
thesexofit
dancerella
lilgish

I know I'm forgetting about three or four.

Last time I checked, her account was still active.
Hopefully she'll return at some point.

I agree with you , tA, & DPWC....Supernova turned me on to several groups/artists ... that I might not otherwise have bothered with...

She has great taste and a brilliant sense of humour to boot ( kinda like you guys) lol

hey, you might be surprised! probably not, but you might!

i really don't have an ear for pop music produced in the late '80s/early '90s, it's true. i understand that it's aging into the disco of its time, and probably within the next ten years, stuff like color me badd and c+c music factory will be coming back with a vengeance as young'uns start to discover it and people who lived through it the first time will be coming back to it as some kind of nostalgia trip. everything gets recycled. but as of now, i can't go there. it all sounds way too one-dimensional to me, plus i really don't like the style of house/dance music that informed a lot of the top 40 stuff around that time. it just ain't me. not that there wasn't music released during that time that i don't like...it just didn't fall into that whole genre/formula/whatev.

but there ARE exceptions. what they are, i couldn't tell ya right now... lol
