1973 Al Green Performance on "Soul Train" (video!)

dunno if this has been posted on here before (at least i've never seen it here, to my knowledge), but i found this kick-ass video! it's al green performing "you ought to be with me" on soul train...check it out! thumbs up!

speaking of soul train...davideye, you still gonna hook me up with some copies of the soul train episodes that you got, aint'cha? batting eyes

*thinks*....when i watched it last night it synced up pretty well for me. i think there were a couple times when the stream kinna choked on me, but otherwise it played fine.

I keep watching this performance, its damn good. It's depressing to see what has happend to soul music. This was a time when musicians ruled the day and the guitar was not frowned upon in soul music.

Thanks for posting this Dansa, my dad has a bunch of Soul Train footage that he order from japan ages ago, this footage seems to be from the same series lol too, bad they're on VHS. confused

you'd think the soul renaissance would've caught fire by now. There are artist out there trying to bring it on this level (we all know who they are) but as long as the kids are controling what's hot, there's a slim chance that something like this will ever be a dominant force in popular music again.

So true, the kids just don't want anything with substance. It pains me. People with talent are so underappreciated in our society. We live in bizarro world.
