Siouxsie & the Banshees "The Scream" 2 CD Re-issue Oct. 4th!

Similar in fashion to related band The Cure, Siouxsie & the Banshee's entire back catalogue will be reissued over the next year. The first is their debut album reissued as 2 CDs, the 2nd CD containing singles, peel sessions, & early versions of songs on their debut album. The b-sides of course are already available seperately on a box set.Personally, I like the raw feel of the Peel sessions over the album versions. You can pre-order this European release here:

I've been anticipating these reissues for some time now. I never even bothered to buy the first five studio albums on CD (I have them on vinyl only) so hearing these remastered tracks will be doubly exciting.

It looks though that like the 'Downside Up' box set, these reissues will be U.K. only. neutral

I guess this is why these releases are U.K. only. Judging by the number of posts on this thread, not many people are interested. neutral

Fuck the rest, let 'em miss out...
With this and the Eurythmics Remasters it's finally time to put some vinyls to rest...

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this. But what I'm actually looking more forward to is the reissues of Kaleidescope, Juju, and A Kiss in the Dreamhouse. Those were New Wave classics. thumbs up!

It will be nice to have a real version of "Make Up To Break Up" on disc. I currently only have it on video somewhere.

Do you know what the rest of their release schedule's gonna look like?

I don't think release dates for the subsequent albums have been announced yet.

From the New Wave Outpost forum, a message from Steve Severin about the next batch of remasters including The Glove!:

Hi everyone,

No doubt you have noticed that the site has been in somewhat of a deep
freeze since we relaunched with the new design. Our relationship with
the initial design company has completely broken but we have just
instructed a new team to finish the job. So a new shop and a new forum are
at hand. I've been advised that the completion will take 4/5 weeks but
hopefully we'll get that shop up and running pretty soon.

BEAUTY & the BEAST is already available and can be purchased either by
credit card or paypal for the time being. Write to us for details.
Any day now we should receive the second release on the new subconscious
label. The original movie soundtrack LONDON VOODOO featuring the 3
songs that Arban & I did as DARLING HATE. We had been waiting for Zen
films to secure a distribution deal in the UK but we can't wait any
longer. Who knows, the CD might act as a catalyst to get that elusive deal?
The movie is available via Amazon.com but it is a region 1 release and
therefore will only play on region less machines capable of handling
PAL AND NTSC. Be afraid.

The third release will be the long promised EROS PLUS MASSACRE album
that I have just finished. Next will be Arban's solo. We have
absolutely NO plans to release work by anyone else so don't flood us with demos,
please. I learned my lesson with RE: - I'm not cut out to be a label
boss at the expense of my own work.

So...Monday sees the release of the remastered SCREAM. I'm still very
proud of the album yet it does feel weird to have the spotlight put
solely back on to it but in many ways it's nice for once to talk about the
music specifically rather than have to generalize about one's entire
career.

I'm back in the vaults the week after next to find extras for
Dreamhouse/Nocturne/Hyaena. I've already picked out the contenders for the next
batch (Join/Kscope/juju) and I'm waiting for listening copies to
arrive. As always Christmas gets in the way so the earliest the next set are
due is February. Hopefully, the subsequent batches will hit the racks
faster. As you can imagine this is a long drawn out process - first we
have to try to remember that far back! Then we have to hunt down the
correct tapes (not always as easy as it sounds) then get these treats
transferred to CD then everyone has to listen and agree.

At the same time Robert and I are trying to fit in the Glove remaster.
He's been out doing festivals for the summer but he mailed last week
and said he was back on it. Once we really start to concentrate on it it
should go really fast. There are only two of us and it's only one
album and Robert has been doing this for his own releases so he knows the
score.

Well, that's all for now. I really just wanted to touch base. As
always there are tons of things simmering in the background but I've learned
to let them come to boil before revealing all.

And if that wasn't a tease - I don't know what is:)

luv on ya!

Severin

p.s. Unfortunately, I have no idea when the Scream will get a domestic
US release i had been told that Interscope were going to pick up the
defunct Geffen deal but obviously this hasn't happened in time to
co-incide with the UK release. When I have some news I'll will post on the
forum. Likewise with the 'essential' DVD. I can tell however, that I
have seen a proposed DVD of Nocturne that sounded good and looked great.
We still have to tweak the menus and argue over "extras". But it is a
start:)

Just as I thought. I shouldn't hold my breath waiting for domestic releases.
