For all I know, this could just end up being a thread for me and Harlepolis, my sister of obsession with Dreamgirls. For those following the movie, there's still no word on who's playing the pivotal role of Effie. I've checked with my friends on the inside and nothing yet! We already know that Beyonce, Eddie Murphy and Usher are a go for sure, but they're still aiming for an unknown (or relative unknown) for Effie.

Anyway, a lot of people are pushing for Jennifer Hudson to take the role that was made popular by Jennifer Holliday (before she diva-ed her way off of Broadway forever). Check out this video clip of Hudson singing And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going and tell me she wouldn't be perfect for it! She's got the pipes, that's for sure.
