When you were mines- Cyndi Laupers version

Just recently I've been hooked on The Cyndi Lauper's version of when you where mines. It's funny how I discovered this song. I didn't even know she remade back in the days. I do believe I was looking for something else then I saw When you where mines, I'm like the prince song from the dirty mind album? When I heard it I was hooked on every since then. Yeah this song is one of Prince classic. The remake is dope as well.

Definitely do. I think it's almost as good as the original. I especially love her singing on "Cause I love you, baby, that's no lie"

Its a great, great cover

Its not a rehash, its her take on it and its great

the inside cover of the 'she's so unusual' reissue says it stands toe to toe with prince's original. can't argue

Love it. "She's So Unusual" was the first rock/pop album I was allowed to buy. My parents never allowed me to listen to anything but classical and jazz growing up.pout

So, her cover of "When U Were Mine" was the only version I was familiar with as well. I still love her, and was lucky to see her live a few years ago, when she sang "I Drove All Night" standing right next to me! She has an acoustic album coming out soon.
