I'm really into this album, it is among the best Michael has ever participated in vocally speaking. He he really sings black, soulful and funky...and man I love when Jermaine and Michael trade vocals. Their voices blend together so well, Jermaine and the rest of the brothers should have never gone separated ways.

Yeah, Moving Violation is a good album, but I can do without their cover of the Supremes classic, Forever Came Today. Moving Violation is one of those albums you play on an easy going Friday or Saturday evening and you feel smooth. This is how they evolved musically, becoming more mature and branded. Let's just say it was a sign of things to come. If you listen really closely to the production, it sounds like they made it on CBS records. My fave joints on here are the jazzy, "You Were Made Especially For Me", "Honey Love", "Breezy", and "All I Do Is Think Of You".

I've been wanting to check this one out. I only have some tracks on J5 Anthology.

Is this the one Mizell brothers helped produce but was sort of a commercial flop?

haha...of course you're right that there is no such phenomenon...however I used it to describe how Michael sings in a way that is common for Motown, gospel, blues and soulvocalists (all deriving from the afro-american legacy)...sorry if I fail to explain it clearly.
