The Mars Volta anyone?

I think they're bloody fantastic. I think both albums are exciting, ground-breaking and imaginative.

I had that album Francis The Mute, or whatever it's called
on my computer for a while, but i just couldn't get into
it at all. I tried a few times but in the end I just threw
it out because it got on my nerves.

"Frances" is insane..A cool headspace CD. Flea and John from the Chili's make a nice cameo on it.

Flea and John are on that? What track? That album is brilliant and exactly how many members of At The Drive Inn are in Mars Volta? The main guys? They are playing some shows with System of a Down soon out West I think.

I know that John Frusciante plays a solo on "L'via L'viaquez"
and as i said earlier in this thread, listen to the fucking song!
It's amazing!

hmm..there are only two members from ATDI in The Mars Volta. Cedric(vocalist)
and Omar(Guitar).

No, there's now 3 ATDI members. The bass-player (Paul, I think) has defected from Sparta to The Mars Volta just recently.

Got to admit, that for all my love of ATDI and The Mars Volta, I still ain't heart De-Facto or Sparta. Where should I start? I think De-Facto would be more my thing...

Well, i would start off with De Facto. I haven't checked out Sparta myself but i will eventually. Check out the De Facto album, "Megaton Shotblast", that's the best one. "El Professor Contra De Facto", "Fingertrap" and "Descarga De Facto" are good songs from that album.

But at this point, Mars Volta is pushing things forward, making them one of the best bands out there today.
