2 weeks ago i got my ass outta bed at 9 a.m. on a saturday morning, hopped on the #4 bus, walked a few blocks down lake street and went to this punk rock flea market that was in the parking lot behind extreme noise, this punk rock record store over in uptown. there was some pretty cool shit there, and most of it was pretty dirt-cheap. anyways, while i was there i found a copy of this:



...turns out that it's a ramones bootlegg album (the tracklist is here). it cost $8 bucks, so i snatched it up along with a couple patches, 2 books and some vegan cookies. the girl sitting at the booth where i bought it said that it's a great album. i'm sitting here, listening to it on my raggedy-assed record player, and the girl was right. damned right, this shit is awesome! i wish i were old enough so i could've went to see one of the ramones's shows while they were still together (and while 3/4 of the band was still alive )...they kicked ass live.

i'm still kicking myself for not seeing the ramones when i lived in nyc and had the chance to go to some cool gigs, especially in the east village.

how are the tv performances? i'd be most psyched about those, since they're probably the best quality sound...

damn I should have gone. I was in Mpls in '86. That's the year I graduated from high school. I went to see Cheap Trick and the Cure but I wasn't attracted to the Ramones at the time.

Looks like its from around 1981 with that tracklisting despite it saying 1986 or maybe they just put the older stuff on there. I loved The Ramones and despite what the critics said they only released a couple of bad albums. Some of their latter day material was great. Mondo Bizarro from 1992 is in my Top 5. They deserved a better fate.
