This year's was the second show. 'KRS One' was honored last year.

I would like to see these artists honored: Funky Four Plus One, Afrika Bambaataa & Soul Sonic Force, M.C. Hammer, Eric B. & Rakim, New York City Breakers, Ice Cube, Digital Underground.

I bet Kanye West thought he was being honored on the show. I'm sure he already thinks he's a legend.

Add EPMD, Tribe, Whodini, GangStarr, Slick Rick, the Beastie Boys and save Hammer for later and I like this list. I'm guessing LL already got his. Oh, and can't forget Kool Moe.

Kanye will never know what it means to be a legend (except maybe in his own mind)!

The closest Kanye will get to legend status is John.

Some of last year's honorees were: KRS-ONE, PE, Kool Herc, The Sugar Hill Gang and DJ Hollywood.
There might have been one or two more. (Were Run-DMC honored?)

Next year: Eric B. and Rakim, Yo! MTV Raps, James Brown and George Clinton, De La Soul, Tribe, Krush Groove and Beat Street in the movie category.

They should do a group recognition of all of the 'original school' cats like Spoonie G, Grandmaster Caz, Treacherous Three, Grand Wizard Theodore, etc.

I have yet to watch this years show, but I have it Tivo'd and I can't wait.

I just remembered, The Beastie Boys did a tribute to Run-DMC so they were honored last year.

Here is a more recent pic of Young MC rockin' the stage with a "young" Sergei Federov jersey on. falloff

Are you sure that's not Young Forrest Whittaker MC?

falloff Nope. Thats him. I think this pic was taken in the late 90s. I think he has slimmed down a bit since then.
