Thanks to some persistant pressure from Gooey and couple foks here, I have opened myself up to the Arcade Fire expereince. I'll admit I was a slow starter with Funeral, but since picking up their E.P. I have fallen quickly in love with the band.

Thankfully my BF got me a ticket to their show at First Ave for my birthday. I was suprprised to learn that the show actually sold-out. Had I high-assed getting tickets, I would be a very sad kitty today.

So, in about 12 hours I will be rockin out to The Arcade Fire at First Ave. So, for those who have seen the band already...anything I should know about the show?

don't go into shock if david bowie turns up.


i hope you have a great time! i almost got to see them at lollapalooza this summer, but it was 106 degrees that day and i didn't want to die.

well, at least one day of it was dealable, and i got to see another excellent pixies show. as fun as that day was, it was worth the price of the ticket, even if lollapalooza was hurled into the sun the next day and i missed out on it. i'm still bummed i missed arcade fire, though. you'll have to tell me how it was.

Hm, I was going to try and snag tickets awhile ago before it sold out, but the only person I could really think of who would've wanted to go see The Arcade Fire was working late tonight, and I didn't really feel like going alone. I wish I'd known that you were gonna be there.

Great band, though. I just bought their debut EP a couple of weeks ago, and it's great. Not quite as lovely as Funeral, but great.

They won't come to Detroit.
