Im really enjoying it, they actaully worked with someone out of the ordinary with the production, the Record was Produced by Jon and Richie but also Grammy award winner John Shanks. If U buy the Dual Disc which I did there is a cool interview with the band and they talk about John Shanks, and how, He took them "out of their Element", Bon Jovi have basically operated within themselves for 20+ years, so obviousy they know each others moves but when they brought John Shanks in he constantly Threw different things at them, which is a Trait of a Good producer, dont get me wrong , Bon Jovi isnt doing a techno cd or something like that, but the change in enviroment brought a breath of fresh air. I know sometimes people feel that artists should work with the "it" producer, I heard soemone say that Prince should work with PHARRELL, why?? so we could get A prince record that sounds like everything else Pharrell produces. The mark of a Good Producer is to NOT have a SOUND where u know they produced but to get a Good result and a Fresh Result from the Artist.

But as A Longtime JOVI fan this CD is alot more RAW sounding and Full of energy, NO Ballads, one slow song and the rest are pretty heavy tracks. As far as sales, Jovi pretty much is a Gurantee to sell 500,000- 1million + in the states, Worldwide however is a different story, where JOVI is bigger than just about everyone, a good portion of their sales are overseas not here, at least in the last decade, America is not big on Longevity it seems.

Havent heard the album, but im reviewing the single for my college newspaper. I like the song. It's basically It's My Life pt.2 but Bon Jovi can get away with shit like that.

I think the album is going to go gold for sure, maybe platinum if it's popular enough. As for the tour, anywhere they go will sell out.

From all the hair bands of the 80s, their one of the few I have genuine respect for (along with Motley Crue and Def Leppard). They just know how to make a good, hooky song.

Jon's appearance helps ALOT. Shit, Im more into women , but I'd lick him.

hehe thats funny you mentioned 3 of my favorite bands from that period! Motley Crue,Bon Jovi and Def Leppard but let me add Poison to that list & if you listen to Brett Michaels solo stuff you realize he does have talent

I have all their albums up to These Days, but they kind of fell off around that time. Seen them in concert twice though - only went the second time for Jon's arse wiggling rather than the music cool

Let me guess; it has a song on it about living life to its fullest and another that sounds like a sappy love poem?

I'm going to guess that since you think that they're a joke, then you probably haven't actually HEARD the CD (maybe part of the single or maybe saw them on tv, but not listened to the whole thing all the way through).

That means you have no right to comment! Go blow yourself!!
If I want your opinion, I'll beat it outta ya!

Bon Jovi could have easily become an 80s joke. Their hair was big, their songs were cheesy, they werent really innovative.

What happened? Unlike most bands of the time, they were smart enough to know that they needed to reinvent themselves PRONTO. And coupled with the fact that their songs(at least the rocking ones) are hookey and irresistable, they were made to last.

Yeah I totally agree, I got into Bon jovi right from the start, but they lost me with their second album which was 7800 fahrenheit, but since everything has been top notch with me, I know a lot of people feel they are cheesy, and nothing special, but I have seen them live about a dozen times, they are a Good band, good players, etc. One of the reasons that I feel that they survived the "hair" band phase was that they were their before it started, kind of like how Pearl Jam survived "grunge", and REM survived "college radio". Another reason JOVI survived, at least i think, is that they werent "substance abusers" sure they had their alcohol phase which is why Alec got booted in 1995, but they werent really heavy into that scene, which i can attribute to them being from New Jersey and never going to LA. If u look at bands like Posion and Motley this is what killed them, plus members also hated each other too. Jovi has never had that issue except during 1989-1990 when Jon and Richie had issues with each other, which is understandable because JOVI were so big and Sambora does ALOT and really wasnt noticed during that time, but they have long since settled that.

I totally agree with you. I think Motley Crue could have been like Bon Jovi commercially had they not fired Vince Neil in the first place. Kinda soured the momentum. I dont think it was the drugs or alcohol.

BTW, is Bon Jovi's current tour coming to Texas? Ive been wanting to see them.

I havent seen any dates yet, someone mentioned the tour of europe in 2006 at some point. As usual Im sure Bon Jovi will be on the road for at least a year or so.

Behind The Music introduced me to this band and while they do have some songs that go back a decade or two, I think some of you guys are going overboard with some of the props you give them.

I'm not saying they aren't talented but innovative? Nah, I think that is going a bit too far.

I haven't checked out the new album. I did like "It's My Life" and "One Wild Night" so I might check it out. Who knows?

I know this is the kind of thing thats said again and again, but i actually think this cd is there best since New Jersey. No sappy love songs which try to be Always and NO FILLER, 12 rocking tracks which flow well, actually mean something as a whole.

Some of the stuff is new ground for Jovi and its very fresh sounding, you know its Jovi but u know its new, some of it sounds like a lot of the stuff thats going on in the UK and in the US to a certain extent, but it beats all that crap with sheer energy, some of Jon's best lyrics. Its an empowering rock record to lift u up.

WEll done Bon Jovi.
