Underated: Tiffany Tiffany needs props straight up. I only just got into her other albums. I had the newjack derivitive "new inside" for years, but never bothered with her first 2 albums. "hold an old friends hand" is very good in places. The title track is very mature lyrically. Tiffany is a great singer. Another year and I’m still here The grass just will not grow on this old hill Still I just can’t let it go, I don’t believe it’s cause I’m cold Or partial to the crazy life I’m caught in Sometimes I fell the hand of time Moving like it’s body was broke And it’s then I miss your sighs And the tender words you spoke Hey, that’s okay - come on around and get yourself together Won’t you come on around and hold an old friend’s hand Babe, I promise not to throw you You don’t have to stay, I just want to hold you Won’t you come on around And hold an old friend’s hand Another year is dead and gone The sun don’t want to shine on this old hill Or anything that’s mine I don’t believe it hurts to grow Even when the crop you sow is a failure Sometimes I wish I had no pride I’d go off and sell my soul But how do you say goodbye To the only truth you’ve known Hey, that’s okay - come on around and get yourself together Won’t you come on around and hold an old friend’s hand Baby baby, I promise not to throw you You don’t have to stay, I just want to hold you Won’t you come on around And hold an old friend’s hand Oh babe, honey everybody makes mistakes We feel a lot of life that way Don’t you think by now I know that? Look what’s brought us both back Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind While the moon and the clouds come spinning Will you whisper my name again? Again and again and again Hey, that’s okay - come on around and get yourself together Won’t you come on around and hold an old friend’s hand Around and around with you I’ve been Flat on the ground and up again Nobody know for sure just when Everything changes Iam sure u'll laugh at me, but I played that track to my dad and he loved it too. And beleive me, he hates this stuff, but that one song especially proves Tiffany can sing songs that are way too mature lyrically, but can still amke them sound personal. Ironically, "i think we're alone now" is not one of my favs of hers. It is often played at clubs I go to though.. and the video is pretty funny Tiffany and debbie gibson vs christina and britney? I give alot to christina, but britney ain't got shit on tiffany. Tiffany can sing. End of.... all this mariah carey this and mariah that and i never knew another white girl had serious pipes too. I picked up "dreams never die" the other day. Its pretty lame as I had some of those songs under geroge e tolbins group PC Quest. It says 1993 and cd seems to be japanese. Its pretty rubbish though. "i feel new inside, u changed my life...." Those snares are too much

I always remembered the vocals on Tiffany's early singles to be not so good. I don't know what she sounds like now. She was the Britney to Debbie Gibson's Christina Aguilera in the 80s.

"I think we're alone now" does not show her off vocally at all. I tend to hear the second album, which i assume didn't do too well (at least in UK), as i only ever found one copy on vinyl. "could of been" is ok off the first, i think that was a hit (it says it was in the UK) Debbie vocally ain't too good. But debbie got her own thang I guess. The cutesy geek next door thing. "electric youth" is so geeky Good song though. "zappin' it to ya..." and i do love the video

I picked up her Hits CD for 3.99 a few years ago. She really sings ballads well.

the lyrics you posted make me want to find a copy of that album. So, mission accomplished, i think. Keep your headphones on.

Okay, I call foul. Tiffany is Maria f**king Callus compared 2 Britney. Debbie Gibson was a singer trained less 4 pop and more 4 the stage. Tiffany's voice and range were much fuller and more powerful. Not 2 mention, neither girl ever grand-standed the way Christina does. I guess my point is they just don't make teen pop stars like they used 2, LOL! Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

"All This Time" reminds me of a high school girlfriend. Maybe it was just young heartbreak, coupled with rampant hormones, but this song really meant something to me back in the day.
All this time I knew someday you'd need to find Something that you left behind Something I can't give you All these tears And like a light love disappears But hearts are good for souvenirs And memories are forever All this time All in all I've no regrets The sun still shines the sun still sets The heart forgives the heart forgets But what will I do now with all this time One more kiss Even though it's come to this I'll close my eyes and make a wish Hoping you remember All this time All in all I've no regrets The sun still shines the sun still sets The heart forgives the heart forgets But what will I do now with all this time Say goodbye Apart we'll make another try But don't be sorry if you cry I'll be crying too All this time All in all I've no regrets The sun still shines the sun still sets The heart forgives the heart forgets But what will I do now with all this time I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

All I was saying was that back in the 80s Tiffany and Debbie were always being compared and it was generally thought at the time that Debbie Gibson had more depth and talent. That's how it is now with Britney and Christina.

Man, everyone disses my shit U need to hear it first man. Dont anybody like music for the masses? Lets not bring snobbery into this again please Possibly because the music you seem to love is generally considered to be the worst of the 80s and 90s. Mass produced, gimmicky schlock that is lacking any real substance. Overall, it is geared towards tweens and elementary school age children. To try to assess it as 'artistic' is a real stretch, so that is why you probably don't get a whole lot of takers. Oh, and I quite like Music For The Masses. It wasn't as strong as Black Celebration or Some Great Reward, but it did have some strong cuts such as "Behind The Wheel" and "Never Let Me Down Again". Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Tiffany had another top 10 single from her second album. "All This Time" maybe? I can't quite remember the name.

Think a thoughtful Alanis, or Alanis if Alanis knew how to write songs.

Even the shit u like Fuck it, i use to listen to pure shit like slipknot and insane clown posse, but my shit is better now. some of the shit i like doesn't need props at all. i like it because i like it. someone giving it props doesn't make me feel better about it or myself for liking it. in fact, most music doesn't deserve as many props as it gets. its popular entertainment. To write lame lyrics to a poppy beat, and have a producer basically manufacture the whole thing in the studio? That is like claiming that it is harder to make a McDonald's burger than a filet mingon! Oh, and I'll take Cyndi Lauper over Tiffany any day. At least Lauper's stuff had some personality.
