What's your favorite TGIF music? I haven't had a Friday night off from work in a couple of years, and now that I'm back to working day hours, I find myself at home, waiting for the boyfriend to get home, and wanting to listen to something kinda celebratory and mellow at the same time. What do you all do your TGIF victory dances to?
Yes, I know. This is a dumb thread. If you'd rather, we can make this an Imago777 appreciation thread in disguise. Your call.

First thing I'd do if you're going out would be put on "Party Happening People".

Okay. Now I have a better picture. Are you eating in? If so, Disc 2 of New Order's "Retro" is absolutely perfect for that.
Gorgeous. Deliriously happy in places for when you're getting ready. Kinda introspective in others for when you're cooking. I swear by it.

You could start with...
Livin' Up (Friday Night) - Bell & James Up in the morning at six o'clock Head for the city Turn on the music, the radio Nobody's hurrying Day after day Slaving away, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah Punching the time I'm late again Sneak in the back way I count the hours, minutes too So glad it's Friday Jump in my ride It's Friday night Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (CHORUS) Living it up, living it up Oh, yeah, Friday night Livin it up, living it up at last Living it up, living it up Oh, yeah, Friday night Livin it up, living it up at last Only on a Friday Never on a Sunday Never on a Monday Same situation every day Some kind of voodoo Same complications Stand in the way Nowhere to run to My mind is dreaming I'm somewhere else Can't seem to shake it I miss the feeling Having fun No way to fake it Jump in my ride It's Friday night Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (CHORUS) And depending on how Friday went... Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) - Elton John It's getting late have you seen my mates Ma tell me when the boys get here It's seven o'clock and I want to rock Want to get a belly full of beer My old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys And my old lady she don't care My sister looks cute in her braces and boots A handful of grease in her hair Don't give us none of your aggravation We had it with your discipline Saturday night's alright for fighting Get a little action in Get about as oiled as a diesel train Gonna set this dance alight `Cause Saturday night's the night I like Saturday night's alright alright alright Well they're packed pretty tight in here tonight I'm looking for a dolly who'll see me right I may use a little muscle to get what I need I may sink a little drink and shout out "She's with me!" A couple of the sound that I really like Are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike I'm a juvenile product of the working class Whose best friend floats in the bottom of a glass Just a suggestion. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Yes. And whatever else. New Order isn't too spastic, so you won't be all hyper for when you have to eat. I was thinking that Deee-Lite might make you so excited you'd puke. That's all.

During the week, prep with this...
Friday on My Mind - The Easybeats Monday morning feels so bad, Everybody seems to nag me Coming tuesday I feel better, Even my old man looks good, Wednesday just don't go, Thursday goes too slow, I've got Friday on my mind Chorus: Gonna have fun in the city, Be with my girl she's so pretty, She looks fine tonight, She is out of sight to me, Tonight....I spend my bread, Tonight...I lose my head, Tonight...I got to get tonight Monday I have Friday on my mind. Do the five day drag once more, Know of nothing else that bugs me More than working for the rich man, Hey I'll change that scene one day, Today I might be mad, Tomorrow I'll be glad, I've got Friday on my mind. Chorus tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."
