I'm not liking "Takk". I think the vocals
are just unbearable now. Though I still like "Aegatis Byrjun".

I applaud the route they are taking and appreciate the trilogy they brought to music.. i think this is it for them though.. this is the final chapter

i would have loved to hear a little bit more radio'esque sounding tracks but this is a great album. I cant listen to it too much, its a highly emotional album, and I'm not always keen on feeling that way all the time.

I enjoyed it though.. nice work.

I really dug Ageatis Byrjun and I liked ( ) but I'm still having some trouble digesting this new Takk album. Maybe I need to get in the right "mood" first to truly appreciate it....

Yeah, rumours have been abounding for some time now that thisis 'it'. But hey, anything's possible. I just like the way they've never trodden water - something many other bands should take notice of and aspire to.

I love it. "Saeglopur" is my favourite - awesome song.
Saw them live in Manchester a little while ago, turned out I had the seat in front of the mic stand. What a night!

I saw them at The Liquid Rooms back in 2000 - about 50 people there, we all sat down and just got stoned lol

I saw them at Glastonbury a few years back in the rain. It was truly beautiful. Looking forward to seeing them when I'm not going back to a tent after. giggle

Now THAT sounds like an amazing show! Wish I'd been there. I love the new album. It is highly emotional but that's where I am now so it is a perfect harmony for my senses. I'll have to get the deluxe edition.

Unfortunately, these were taken before the advent of the commercial boom in Digital photography, but for what it's worth...

Wow, you saw them at Glasto? Carried, you are very priviledged. Glasto is so popular, most of us Brits fail to get in, so for someone from overseas to get in is very good work!

And I've been twice. mr.green

giggle Just had to brag a bit. I had a great time both times, but I won't be doing it again. I'm not much for camping for days with virtually no access to proper toilets or showers and being so far away from my home that I won't be back in my own bed for too long a time. But I saw some damn good performances. Bowie, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, and the list could go on and on and on... smile

Yeah you are so not going again!

lol

I've been 3 times, but would still like to do it once more.

And, in regards to Sigur Ros' performance at Glasto, it was one of my all time favorite musical experiences. Beautiful and brilliant.

OK, I'm not one to boast. Well, yes I am and I'm about to:

I've been to Glastonbury in:

1992
1993
1995
1997
1998
1999
2000

I missed the last 4 due to increased security and fast-selling tickets. sad

I made it to 1998, 2000 and 2003.

An ode to the greatness of Glasto is the fact that my first year was one of the MASSIVE mud years, yet I loved it so much I knew I'd go back. If nothing else, I felt I deserved to experience it once in better weather smile

Yeah, 1998 was a wellies year but 1997 was worse! Still, this year there was severe flooding. Hope that makes tickets easier to get next time lol

Gangsta and I just returned from seeing this show. There are simply no words to describe. Stunning, emotional, magikal amd mystikal for sure. They touch the senses in a way I've never experienced before. During one of the songs, the lead singer stood, simply with his hands at his sides. He was singing in that sweet angelic voice ~ just pouring his soul out. He lifted his hands and I thought ~~~~ the Human Condition in it's purest form ~~~and he is presenting the beauty and simplicity of it to us as a gift. He then quietly walked off the stage and I knew we had experienced something truly special. I had told Nathan that listening to Takk, I didn't see stories in the songs as I do with Dead Can Dance, but rather, felt the Elements and raw emotion. The concert played this out in a way that is beyond the imagination. It is still difficult to process what my mind saw and heard. If you are even remotely interested in Sigur Ros ~ do not miss this show!
