What kind of new image/album/performances would YOU like to see from MJ? Here's what I want:
lose the military clothes, new hair, a bit of meat on the bones tons of dark, hard grooves like, Shout, Give Into Me, and They Don't Care About Us produce most of the album himself no more "Heal the World" type songs

I don't know if he can do anything to his image that would be feasible. He has so pidgeonholed himself that anything he does will look like a calculated act.
I'd like to see him drop the ee-hee's though! And the crotch grabbing. I'm firmly planted in denial

I agree...
...and I wouldn't want none of that new-age techno, modern-soundin shit, either. Hell, I just want to hear Michael and what's wrong with the "Hee-Hees"? [Edited 8/25/05 11:29am] They did WHAT??!....

I have the deepest respect for all artists, so naturally I'd hope that he simply does something that is true to himself.
(that said, I still wanna see him unplugged)

(that said, I still wanna see him unplugged) I would love to see that too. Force the world to remember why we loved him in the first place. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

How can you lose the military clothes when 20 years later it's finally in fashion? He's ahead of the times
I tell ya, I was in a clothes shop the other day and on one side were military jackets exactly like one MJ wore in 1984, with trousers with a gold stripe down the sides. On the opposite side there were purple velvet suits with ruffled white shirts. I thought I'd stepped into a time-warp. I'd have bought the jacket if they had my size! [Edited 8/25/05 12:04pm]

Bah, when was the last time he grabbed his crotch on stage or in videos apart from Billie Jean performances in concert?
Still holding out for an unplugged. I'm not too happy about what little I've been told about the next project. I doubt anything's finalised because th stuff in line has to be the same stuff that was ready to go back in 2003, so he's bound to change it all when contracts get signed.

I have seen performances by him well into the 90's where he grabbed himself so much it was embarassing. An "Unplugged" may be the only way for him to go. I'm firmly planted in denial

Imagine MJ sittin' on a stool, surrounded by 4 or 5 musicians playing stuff like Human Nature, I Can't Help It, Rock With You, You Are Not Alone, Remember The Time, Stranger in Friggin' Moscow....man I'm gettin' excited already. How gorgeous would his voice be in that setting!?!!

No to YANA, but Give In To Me would be lovely. Have you heard the short "fake" acoustic version of it?

The Music: I would say a mixture of Off the Wall and Invincible
The Look: Although he can't go back to it, I would love to see the old Michael between Off The Wall and Thriller days. Now whose flat top rules in '89? - Big Daddy Kane

Since his friend Brett Ratner is directing X-Men 3 and it's the ONLY type of movie hed ever be acceptable in, he could plausably cameo in that. MJ already said his fav superhero was Morph from X-Men
Anyone got the Blade 2 DVD? In the commentary they mention that it was only changed at the last minute, but MJ was set to be an evil vampire pimp

+ an album of hits of the caliber of Butterflies, Remember The Time, etc. But the former is a pipe dream. I just want him to keep his nose clean. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

O.k., how about MJ does a live stripped down show similar to Elvis' '68 comeback special?
How's this for a setlist? Michael Jackson LIVE 1.Another Part of Me (kick it off strong, baby!) 2.Remember The Time 3.I Can't Help It 4.Liberian Girl 5.Human Nature 6.Whatever Happens 7.Billie Jean 8.Rock With You 9.Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 10.Give In To Me 11.Stranger In Moscow 12.You Are Not Alone 13.Butterflies 14.The Way You Make Me Feel 15.I Just Can't Stop Loving You (w/Siedah Garrett) 16.The Lady In My Life 17.Man In The Mirror Not sure about the sequencing, but these songs would rock in a smaller, more intimate setting!

hmmm lets see. normal attire (mike i know its hard but u been rockin the military glam for too damn long!) a NEW hair do (with ur REAL hair!! the wigs and weaves are sooo over!!!) NORMAL SPEAKING VOICE (mike WE KNOW u dont REALLY talk like that) actually i would like it if he didnt dance no more, groove maybe but not DANCE like he usually does, he gon pop somethin one of these days. performance wise i'd like to see somethin very stripped down, maybe neo soulish, just mj and a piano, or an acoustic guitar and drums (i'd love to see him try blues)
the type of music..anythin but POP. i'd like him to do some more rock (but NOTHING about kids, his love for kids) and def. not a whole record bout the allegationss. if not rock, funk Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

He's had a soft-spoken voice eversince he was a child and actually defended it in a late '70s interview saying everybody in his family had soft voices.

an album full of songs like the new ones off blood on the dancefloor, dark, haunting masterpieces. new haircut that hes never had before, grow some stubble (NOT like the 2000 stubble, more natural looking stuff) new kinda outfits, but with the same mj vibe (NO baggy or thug clothes, michael only suits tight clothes) same michael dancing style but with new moves hes never done before and new coreography. and stay VERY VERY VERY thin, but in a healthy way. i noticed michaels at his best dancing wise when hes really thin, and it looks better too, just think jacksons variety show and victory concert [Edited 8/25/05 15:14pm]

it's time for michael and janet to grow up a bit.
i'd love to see MJ record something that flirts a bit with "neo-soul" or (does this category even exist yet?) "alt-soul". ease up on the production and the treacle and bring some classy, simple, nuanced ideas. i'm thinking something like a sade album or even a slightly less sinister sounding martina topley-bird sound. and janet needs to quit acting like she's on spring break from hoochie U and put together something elegant. she can still show her precious boobs...just chill out a touch.

It's not an out-of-the-world scenario by any means. I don't see him recording another "healing anthem" anytime near too soon, he needs to heal himself first. But I could be wrong. One thing I am sure though, if he releases an album in the coming years there will definitely be a few introspective songs on it, and I'm sure they will be a bit more maure than what he has released over the years.

Exactly! An "Unplugged" performance is what he really needs to do.No gimmicks,no dance routines,no dancers,no fireworks.....just Michael Jackson and a great band sitting down in a bare studio, playing stripped down, acoustic versions of his songs....some hits, some album tracks and maybe even a few new songs or covers.Put the focus back on his voice! Remind people that he actually has talent. His fans would go nuts, and undoubtedly,a CD of this show would be a huge seller. An "Unplugged" tour would also be a great idea.

I've been saying this for years, and of course about 99% of people agree, but I've come across some right weirdos who are totally deluded in thinking that a 47 year old man should be working with 10 popular people half his age because it's the only formula for commercial success I don't know how many times I've heard people suggest getting Missy Elliott on board As much as she'd probably love to, I can't picture it being anything other than a big ol' mess.
