I LUV Joss.

When she first came out with that pitiful "Fell in Love with a Boy" I wasn't feeling her.

But then, she released the remake of "Super Dupa Love (Are you diggin' on me?)" and I fell for her voice.

Bought the album and loved it. Choking Kind is soo moving.


Then, on the second album she had another shitty lead single ...followed by the sultry Spoiled, which inspired me to buy her album again.

If she's frontin' I can't perceive it. I think she's awesome.

Uh, she was hired to produce her first album. I'm not sure what "trying to be something she isn't" means. If you've paid attention, you'd know that her first album was a one-off deal. It was an album of soul covers. Her second set was a pop record.

and i say she is "trying" because i dont buy her vocal warbles.....its not her natural singing voice...IMHO....i get the same impression when i hear shakira warble...when i hear ricky martin sing in english...there are just some voices that dont ring true to my ear..and she is one of em, big time..

Stone didn't even pursue a career until 2002 and her first album came out in 2003...at the age of 16. How does that equate "years?" I like Joss Stone (I don't love her, but I find myself defending her a lot lol), but she's young and needs to find her own footing. I think Wright's been both good and bad for her. If she ever finds her own sound, she'll have a fine career. Until that time, she's going to be seen by some as a poser. I don't think she's is; she's got the goods, but she's got to hone it all.

finally when stone did come out i was like, "this is her?"....

sowwy..leanne rhymes didnt fake the funk..that girl came out and did what her voice and emotions felt deemed natural...sure the girl screwed it up by going "pop" but her voice never sounded forced.....

i too hope stone find her true singing voice...but right now she sounds like she is mimmicking other people.

When did music obtain a color? I've been playing for over 20 years and I have yet to see red, blue or green music, let alone black or white. Thanks to my musical upbringing and curiosities I've been exposed to Bach, Chopin, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Diz, Miles, Trane, Bird, Devo, B-52s, The Clash, Run-DMC, A Tribe Called Quest, Chocolate Butterfly, Breath and Strange Fruit Project (if ya don't know, betta go to cdbaby and check out the last 3 mentioned!) and everything in between and I have yet to see a color. Fantastic ideas and interpretations, but no colors. Am I missing something?
