Until about a year ago, I thought Maxwell created this song. 
Nevertheless, I stop cold in my tracks whenever I hear Maxwell's version and am always pushed to the verge of tears. especially toward the end when these lines are repeated: All the things I should've said that I never said/ All the things we should've done, That we never did. 
His voice and the fact this he's an actual male electrifies this song for me. I've read of course that Tori created this from a male perspective but I've never heard whether she appreciated Maxwell's version. For those who've heard both ... am I really missing out not hearing Tori's. If I think Maxwell's is transcendent and ethereal ... will I pass out hearing hers?   uh-oh.....Tori vs Kate round 30.  damn.....does Tori really sound that much like Kate? This is my favourite kate bush song, its amazing, prob in my top10 best songs of all time, her voice is just truly beautiful in this song, and lets out so much emotion, without Nana i would of never heard this song! Keenmeister |
