I adore this song, just hearing the opening few seconds just sends shivers all through my body and it's on at the moment. Radio 2 played T.W.W. just after the Madrid bombing story broke and it just transports me to an emotional place whenever I hear it...a strange mixture of sadness, joy, being fragile and strong all at the same time- WOW x

I am ashamed and embarassed to say that I have never heard the original version by Tori Amos.

Until about a year ago, I thought Maxwell created this song.

Nevertheless, I stop cold in my tracks whenever I hear Maxwell's version and am always pushed to the verge of tears.

especially toward the end when these lines are repeated: All the things I should've said that I never said/ All the things we should've done, That we never did.

His voice and the fact this he's an actual male electrifies this song for me.

I've read of course that Tori created this from a male perspective but I've never heard whether she appreciated Maxwell's version.

For those who've heard both ... am I really missing out not hearing Tori's.

If I think Maxwell's is transcendent and ethereal ... will I pass out hearing hers?

You should definitely hear Kate´s version, it´s off her Sensual World album and I´m pretty sure you´ll also like a lot of other songs from that album.
One of my favorites is The Fog, the way it builds up and the atmophere it gives you are incredible.
Another good one is A Deeper Understanding, about loneliness and people spending time in front of their computers...the lyrics of Prince´s My Computer reminded me of this song when I heard it.

I on the other hand haven´t heard Tori´s version yet.


Maxwell´s version is great. I like his album version but his rendition for MTV Unplugged was incredible.
