Yes and "Hail To The Thief" is a better album than "The Bends"? It has better songs? I beg to differ!

does any fan still listen to hail to the thief these days? smile(cloudbuster shut it...you dont even know where you put your copy anymore!)
[Edited 9/26/05 0:58am]

I tend to break it out every now and then.. bout half the album is worth the album.. cause they are high quality songs.. but it didnt get close to Kid A or Amnesiac

mr.green

Surely, this can't come as a surprise to you, though. lol I find them pretentious, for some reason. I also find the people who are extreme fans of them to be pretentious also. "You just don't get it." No, perhaps I just don't like it, which is entirely different from not "getting it." rolleyes

Of course you're not talking about me because I'm not an "extreme fan" of them. biggrin I just like them a lot. Not everything they've done, but certain albums. nod

ANd no it doesn't come as a surprise to me. lol If we do that mp3 swap thing, I have a feeling that you'll hate everything I send you. mad Speaking of that, I listened to Hootie and "Hey Hey", and yeah it's pretty cool. But then I love that song, so that's why. I found the guitars to be a bit sparse, but then it's not Jimmy playing then is it? razz hehehe Oh, have you heard The Black Crowes version (w/ Jimmy of course)?

I liked the sparesness of it, especially towards the end when the drums and bass cut out. razz But it does seem a bit naked compared to Zep's version, which is still the definitive version.

No, I've heard a few of the Black Crowes and Jimmy Page songs, and I didn't like them. lol Which is odd, because I love the Black Crowes. In fact, they have been in the cd player of my car for 2 days now.

That's because Chris Robinson doesn't sound right singing Plant's lyrics. mr.green I love hearing the "Lemon Song" live (because Zep never played that one live) but Chris just can't hit those notes. disbelief They sound better doing the non-Zep songs like Shake Your Money Maker, Sloppy Drunk, etc. IMO.

Yeah, that's the same conclusion that I had. It's the only Black Crowes cd that Amanda doesn't have. I actually bought it for her once, and she returned it. lol They used to play the version of "What Is and What Should Never Be" on the radio all the time, and she used to complain about it all the time. The strange thing here is that she is a much bigger fan of the Black Crowes than of Led Zeppelin, but the concept of the Crowes doing Zeppelin songs pissed her off. lol

Personally, I think the Crowes sound better when they're trying to be the Stones or the Faces, which is why I prefer "Shake Your Money Maker," "Southern Harmony," and "By Your Side."

lol

Or maybe it's the woman that screams the ENTIRE time throughout the whole concert. This ear-piercing shriek every time Jimmy plays something, or starts up a Zep song. lol

I swear it wasn't me. whistling
