i think you are talking about the album that featured the song "Whuzupwitu" feat. M.J. I think the name of that album was "I was the King"..and no I didn't waste a penny on that thing...the song was horrible enough.....and don't get me started on the corny video they shot for that....
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

whooooo-- that shit was bad. The birds, the harlem boys choir and the graffiti music notes on that iluustrated sky.

Lets not even talk about the words that needed to fly out of their mouths --- like birds---

I dont want to think about it.

If you listen to the way they say "Wazzup" in the song, it becomes clear where the idea for the "Wassup" craze originated a few years later...

Coincidence?

I think not. lol

Eddie Murphy had a hit back in the 80's with the Rick James-penned tune, "Party All the Time". smile

I have that album, it's called "Love's Alright". I don't like the song with Michael Jackson but I did enjoy "I Was A King" (which is slightly funky), "Love's Alright" (a very Prince-like slow jam...Eddie even sounds like Prince in certain sections of the song), and "One" (a house-like dance song).

It's an OK album. Eddie made a serious attempt on his first album which contained "Party All The Time" and had a helping hand from Rick James. On his second album, it contained a rediculously silly song called "Put Your Mouth On Me" (which I hated). That song was more comedy than anything else. On the "Love's Alright" album though, Eddie shows that he does have a slight musical ability. He just needs to work on it a little more. He wanted to be a musician before he wanted to be a comedian.

I never bought an Eddie Murphy album but, I did enjoy every single that he's released including Wazzup Wit You (at the time I was a huge MJ fan) and Put your mouth on me. I Was a King is my favorite EM song and I still like Party All The Time. How can you listen to that song and not smile and dance around? biggrin
