Damon Albarn: The Prettiest Man In Rock?

Never mind that Blur's cranked out some delicious albums over the years, or that he was partially responsible for Gorillaz, or that he's done some pretty nifty solo projects of Icelandic and African inspired music - this guy's PURTY. If he were any easier on the eyes, I'd tattoo his yummy little ass on my corneas.

Swooon...

I really dislike the fact the wonderful African music of the Malian musicians could only be introduced to the west with his dubious contribution. His vocals can sour the most beautiful sonic landscapes...

Guess it all stems from the ignorance of the whole "World Music" term.

DANGIT!!! Nope, I totally missed that part!! It figures, I haven't caught him (via Blur) live since seeing them at the Glastonbury festival which was 4 years ago now!

Speaking of the Gorillaz show...that venue was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! do they have many shows there??

Some people are like Slinkies...

They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

The Aragon? I don't know. I haven't lived in Chicago all that long, so I'm not 100% up on who plays where. It was a funky space though, huh? It kinda had that storybook/Spanish villa thing going on...very funky little venue.

I've been to chicago a number of times for shows, but they are almsot always at the Metro or the Vic... I totally dug the ambience of the Aragon, that spanish/mideival feeling, it added a lot to the whole experience, I hope more performers utilize that space.

anywho, thanks Anxiety, you got me in a blur mode so I spent the morning re-bonding with Parklife and Modern Life Is Rubbish, oldies but goodies that make it into my cd player much too infrequently...

peace

Damon Rules! he's one of the few survivors of Brit-Pop! I was a massive Blur Fan right of the bat! Gorillaz are also cool. Look at his contemporises from the mid 90's. Oasis are in crisis and suede (who are also cool. got all there albums) have been silent since 99. All the other Brit-Poppers have vanished from sight! he's a survivor!

By the way ENDORPHIN74 what you doing with my sodding name??

Wasn't Suede completing an album for release this year?? I'd heard (probably from NME) that they were recording a "darker" new cd, more like 'dog man star' than 'head music'...I keep waiting...

Blur has long been one of my faves, seeing them at Glasto was such a treat. I'd seen them a number of times in the U.S., and yes those shows were great...but glasto was THE experience...b-sides and rare tracks you'd never hear in America..

ps...it's MY name, I had it first!!! wink
