Why do I like Alanis? I really shouldn't dig Alanis Morissette as much as I do. She's often sings in a grating voice, her lyrics are often pretentious and seldom rhyme, and many of her songs are built on the thesis that the vast majority of men suck. But you know what, I don't care about any of these things. Her ballads make me reflective and I can often relate on some level and her fast songs often soar. And she brings in unconventional instruments like sitars and it just works. What can I say? I like me some Alanis!
Anyone else? All good things they say never last...

Yep, I like her too. I'm not a huge fan, nor do I buy all her music, but I can definitely appreciate her as an artist. She's real, unlike the Britney's, JLo's and Jessica's of this world. She looks great since she cut her hair and she's Canadian too!!

[Edited 9/22/05 9:26am] "The Knees of My Bees" on her last studio album might be one of my favorite tracks she's done. I really dig the acoustic re-working of Jagged too. All good things they say never last...
