Anxiety

i have to admit, about a year ago i was at a dance night at the roxy in NYC, and they were playing all kinds of fun retro stuff, and right in the middle of it they played "beautiful people" and for the first time in my life i listened to marilyn manson and thought "THIS SOUNDS SO GOOD"...and i was sober as a judge, even! lol

so maybe in the right context, marilyn manson music is cool. i just don't care to listen to it on a day to day basis, it sounds like eddie vedder on heroin to me.

Manson's underrated these days. Mechanical Animals is one of my favorite albums of all time and Golden Age of Grotesque had some really hot trax. I think the main reason Manson is still recognized is because of his over-the-top appearance and lifestyle, which isn't really a bad thing either. I just wish he was more recognized for his music.

Trent Reznor will always be known as a great musician and producer. Deservingly so. However, while he's still rock starish, it's not to the same effect as Manson.

Basically: Trent is more Roger Waters and Dr.Dre(as far as production goes at least), while Manson is more KISS and Alice Cooper. Hell, you can even compare Manson to Madonna as far as marketing sense and grabbing headlines.
