Kate Earl, "Fate is the Hunter"

As I pass the time, awaiting Fiona's CD release, I'm passing the time by spinning Ms. Earl's disc.

She comes close to FA's sound on many tracks, but her production also leans toward funkier climes. I'm diggin it muchly.

And, my current jam to bump is "Officer." Kinda Wendy & Lisa-ish.

Not familiar with Kate Earl, but I'm ready for Fiona's new album too. I wanna see how much different her old version is from her new one. I haven't heard the new "Oh Sailor" yet, but I heard they made much worse than the original one. I love that one too. pout They shouldn't have touched "Red Red Red" either.....maybe change the title around a little, but that's all. "Not About Love" should stay the same as well.....just mix it a little better for sound quality. I wouldn't re-arrange it though, but what do I know....I'm only a fan. giggle

I'll ask the dreaded question about Fiona's earlier disc that I wouldn't dare ask about a Prince outtake or boot: Where did you find it?

It's been leaked all over the place for a while now.....you can find it at pretty much any file sharing place. Even Rolling Stone did a review on it.....an unreleased album giggle they gave it 3 1/2 stars out of four....not bad. I'm just anxious to compare the two.

Thanks, Boom! woot! You confirmed my suspicions.

Turns out that "Officer" sounds Girl Bros.-ish because Wendy's on it. I suspect she did a LOT more on it than just play guitar (as she's credited). From intro to close, it sounds like a W&L track. Apparently, Incubus handled a lot of the production, too.
