Luther Vandross sure got funky with "She's A Super Lady". Everyone remembers Luther Vandross as a balladeer. Well, y'all can remember Luther however you want to but I remember him for some of his funk jams. In the early days, he could definately get funky when he wanted to. He worked with the BB&Q Band, Change, and even sang backup for Chic. He also produced some funky cuts for Aretha Franklin.
Anyway, I pulled his first album, "Never Too Much", the other day and was playing a few cuts. "She's A Super Lady" was definately funky. Anyone else like this jam? Andy is a four letter word.

I just downloaded Jump To It from iTunes on Thursday and I just can't stop listening to it. He made Aretha so hot with that song. It's superfunky like that. I wish Luther did more funky stuff cause his dance stuff was bangin but the stuff he did do with the ballads was incredible. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Another funky one of Aretha's is "Get It Right" which is similar to "Jump To It". [Edited 9/19/05 18:08pm] Andy is a four letter word.

I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

WOO I been wearing my ipod out with this song. I want to find more early 80's funk. That is my favorite period for music, particularly with R&B and Funk. I'm not a fan of "old Prince".
