Piper is SO different from all other Floyd albums though, obviously. It's probably the strangest one of the bunch, and not exactly what you'd call an accessible album. hmmm I'd tell him to go with something more obvious, like "Dark Side of the Moon". nod

I don't know. I know hardcore Floyd fans always say Piper is their best, but I just can't seem to warm up to it. sigh I think it's overrated actually.

I'm so sorry you can't warm up to it, you're missing quite the trip. this is Syd Barret's finest hour, such a shame he blew his mind

You know, I've been meaning to check out that band, Spirit. Maybe I'll give 'em a listen this weekend. Them as well as Ten Years After. I'm not big on acoustic hippie Rock, but I'm open-minded about it at least.

Me too. nod I love "Fresh Garbage" by Spirit, which I have on a compilation album, but I don't have anything else by them. Yet.

I'm supposed to be "Mr. Black Rock" and I don't have anything with Phil Lynott.

Yep. nod Jimmy Page recently compiled a CD with artists that were his musical influences, and "Fresh Garbage" was on there. That's how I first heard them actually.

I saw Thin Lizzy In Feb, well the Sykes/Gorham setup and it was amazing. Those songs simply do not age. The whole show was done with the right amount of reverence for Phil and the whole experience gave me goosebumps. Really really spritual.
