DC Talk Anyone heard of these guys? I vaguely remember an old thread about them? Their newjack flavoured "new thang" is good wholesome funk'd up fun. And not preachy either. I love it. Anything else that is as good as this christian rap group? And "he works" is one of my fav songs ever. With the best rap ablib ever..... "yeah, ha, ha, the boys are back, and we're cold kickin' it for jesus christ, ya know!". Too funny. I always say that line now. It always makes me laugh. Iam a little crazy

A long long time ago I worked at the Mall of America and members of the group came into my store and they were absoletely mobbed. I had never heard of them so I was quite surprised because seeing celebrities wasn't all that unusual and they were probably mobbed moreso then anyone I ever saw.

If you like dc talk, you should check out some of the member's solo stuff. Kevin Max is my favorite member of dc talk - he has an awesome voice, reminiscent of Freddie Mercury. Tobymac (the group's rapper) had a good solo effort this year in Welcome To Diverse City (perhaps you've heard his song "The Slam" in the Prison Break promos and/or the trailer for Transporter 2). Michael Tait has two nice solo albums out, too. He's more rock whereas Kevin is europop/alt and Toby is rap. I really like them. I've seen them in concert as a group, and each of them as a solo artist.
We all wanna be loved We all want just a little respect We all wanna be loved Tell me what's wrong with that? (Edited to fix grammatical crap - I'm sure I didn't catch it all.) [Edited 9/11/05 16:46pm] "She made me glad to be a man"

Is this the same band that changes the words of Nirvana's "All Apologies" from "Everyone is gay" to "Jesus is the way" when they perform it live? That's so lame.

Iam a little crazy I still play their single Jesus Freak from time to time. In the Light was a good single as well. For Christian rap however, I like more substantive artists like The Cross Movement or Hazakim. Off the chart talent.

They started out rapping...as their initial focus when Toby was more in charge but when Tait and Kevin Max began 2 develop the true DC Talk was born with Jesus Freak that was like goin from Meet The Beatles to Revolver in terms of growth! Supernatural is their best album flawless. [Edited 9/15/05 3:34am] [Edited 9/15/05 3:35am] Luminous beings are we...not this crude matter.
Is this 2morrow or just the END of time? The Funk will always b with u "I've got a face, not just my race, Bang Bang I've got you babe!"

dc Talk -- this thread made me do some digging in the crates! I used to really like the single "Just Between You And Me" (this was one of their attempts to appeal to a mainstream, secular audience). I'm listening to the CD single now!

Just Between u and Me is superb along with Consume Me in fact between u and me is one of their most spiritual songs.
the mainstream embraced it a lil but the message is quite explicit Luminous beings are we...not this crude matter.

I might get some more of their stuff, even if the hiphop does get thrown out. They seem cool.
