How funky is that new Nikka Costa album?

VERY fonky!

It is nitty gritty (second time tonight I use that term), it bounces and I love the way she can make her voice go deep, dares to go high and screams like rock's new queen...

Hurray for Nikka. You go girl...

love this pic too, but I understand the reason to move away from yet ANOTHER Kylie kind of pic that only reall appeals to horny teenagers of any age, while the released cover at least has the potential to appeal to women...

Wow, she looks hot in that pic. They should have chosen that for the cover.

Anyway about the cd, it's good but for some reason I don't listen to it which is sad because I literally couldn't wait for it to come out. sad

I love every single song on that album, except for "Around the world". That one gets kinda going towards the end, but it's still dull, IMO. Everything else is great, up-tempo and ballads. I guess my favorite would be the title track.

BTW, "Everybody Got Their Something" is not her debut. You can dl an earlier album from her site for free (or a fan site, can't remember). Pretty good, too.

wow, I gotta check this out. I´ve just discovered her this week by buying the Las Vegas DVD concert. I hope that it got released all over the world.

Oh waitaminute, I just realized you said 'of any age'. But does that make sense--teenagers of any age? confused

That's Hot! I can understand why they didn't use if for the cover but that should have been in the insert.

This is the same mentality that deemed Musicology a great album. Her album is ok, but no big surprise, or no great songcraft. Funky? Barely.

ehhh? a general consensus is what deems an album anything. you think its only okay? thats fine....i love it greatly. but i dont think she will ever achieve anything above cult status..like wendy and lisa before her she is to eclectic to achieve a massive audience....

which is funny cause nikka was all over the stage during the pacifico largo shows....i guess she is accepting her destiny.

I agree with Huey. nod I'm sick of seeing every woman in the music business only half dressed on their album covers. shrug It's boring. yawn

I like the first one posted better. nod Very cool. The second one is too disco-y.

It's a good album. I've seen Nikka twice in concert, and she's much better live.
