Funk track by Nina hagen

I heard a song once in 1989 on college radio, by German punk psycho Nina Hagen, that I don't know the title of. It was pure funk with no rock or new wave. All I remember, is that it was in English and that she mentions UFOs and Jimi Hendrix. Very funk and R&B sounding song. Does anyone know the song? Also does anyone know if this woman has a mental illness?

maybe Germans who come to this site can help me.

That song is "What it Is" written 4 her by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and is from her album "Fearless". Nina Hagen is a beautiful child of the universe and is an extreemly spiritual being. She channels from the heavens. She had her past with substances just like many and created a masterpiece of music called "Nunsexmonkrock" Her voice is sublime and she still working today.

Thanks, but I think she's crazy.

She of course milks her 'crazy' label.

Her masterpiece to me is Naturträne. The lyrics, the music, her delivery of the emotions (including her making chicken sounds)

She got some opera training before becoming a punk singer. So back in the day she was quite capable of hitting them high notes.

I love her.

All I know that at that there are a couple of riffs in her song 99 Loftballons (99 Red balloons)which was funky. The song ended up being a hit over in the states in the early to mid 80's

The west German band Nena with Nena Kerner on lead vocals did 99 luft balloons. Nina Hagen from the former East Germany is completely different.

Nena did a lot of new versions of her old songs in recent years and had a huge comeback here in Germany. I think she is bigger than ever here now and has a kind of cult status like Nina Hagen too. I can´t f***ing stand her music because on all the (gay) parties you go here her music is played to death until you can´t hear it anymore.

Nina Hagen is very popular too but I think most people know her from her strange appearances is talkshows where she always babbles about Ufos and other wacky stuff. I think very few people actually know her music and she didn´t have a hit for at least a decade.

True that. And in the late 70s (or maybe very early 80s) it was one of the biggest scandals ever on Austrian television when she showed on a TV show how a woman maturbates. The host of that show was fired because of that incident nod
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....
