VERY fonky!

It is nitty gritty (second time tonight I use that term), it bounces and I love the way she can make her voice go deep, dares to go high and screams like rock's new queen...

Hurray for Nikka. You go girl...

Yay, Huey! You went out and bought it like I told you to! woot!

Don't you just love it when she goes "My lover F was just too freaky to forget"? drool

I think the album mostly continues in the same style as Everybody Got Their Something, yet somehow I think I like Can'tneverdidnothin' more. Except for the rather dull track 11, I love every song on the album! music

I've been trippin' on it for almost four weeks straight now. razz

Am I the only one who associates the lyrics for Funkier Than A Mosquito's Tweeter with Prince? giggle

Bookstore? biggrin

I'm going to Malmö in Sweden with Virgo today. We're going to see Louise Hoffsten live! drool

Like Wendy & Lisa and Nikka Costa, Louise Hoffsten is one really cool rock/blues singer/songwriter who hasn't really reached the level of popularity she deserves. She's great and I am so looking forward to the show tonight. It will be the third time I see her live. biggrin

I just came back from Malmö, Huey.

Me and Virgo were up front, shaking our bods. It was a great concert and when Louise was done playing, me and Virgo stole the playlists. Ha, ha, ha! giggle

This is the same mentality that deemed Musicology a great album. Her album is ok, but no big surprise, or no great songcraft. Funky? Barely.

ehhh? a general consensus is what deems an album anything. you think its only okay? thats fine....i love it greatly. but i dont think she will ever achieve anything above cult status..like wendy and lisa before her she is to eclectic to achieve a massive audience....

which is funny cause nikka was all over the stage during the pacifico largo shows....i guess she is accepting her destiny.

wink

And that's aight by me!
I loved the last CD so I guess From what "some" folks are saying I'll dig this one too. Support the "underground"!
cool
Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

i'm still in the middle with Nikka...I think she's good but I'm not feeling her.....and I don't know why....I guess I keep thinking she's the off spring of Teena Marie and Janis Joplin....and I just know that shit ain't physically possible. eek

I did see her live when she opened for Erykah Badu....she is entertaining. nod

biggrin I've been in the U.S. most of the summer, and then I just got over having the flu and food poisoning at the same time. I got sick soon after I returned to Holland. sick So I wasn't online much.

Now I'm better of course, since I'm back here again. lol

Although I know who Teena Marie and Janis Joplin be, I am not familiar with their music, but it wouldn't surprise me if Janis Joplin is among Nikka's sources of inspiration. biggrin
