I love Stacy Lattisaw Ever since 'Let Me Be Your Angel', I was hooked. Why is she not one of the most famous singers today? I am listening to 16, from 1983 and it is still hot. I also put on Personal Attention (w/4 cuts produced by Brown Mark '87) Working with people like Narada Michael Walden (Whitney), Randy Jackson (Mariah), Angela Bofil, Kathy Sledge, Johnny Gill, Howard Hewitt etc. Why did she never really catch on? Her vocals are top notch. I am still a fan. Does anyone have any current info on her? ---------------------------------

She broke into the business at 15 yrs old. She had a hit song called "Dyn-O-mite" I wonder if she wrote that song about J.J from Good Times?

I bought her "Best Of" collection that Rhino released a few years back. Yeah,I got that compilation too. It's thorough, but it's missing one hit: 1985's "I'm Not The Same Girl Anymore",which I really liked. My favorite Stacy Lattisaw album is 1982's 'Sneakin Out'.It includes three hits: "Don't Throw It All Away","Attack Of The Name Game" and a lovely remake of "Hey There Lonely Boy".But my favorite song is the last track "I Could Love You So Divine".I swear, this is her BEST SONG ever!! A beautiful ballad in which her voice just soars.I don't know why they didn't release this gem as a single.

some interesting Stacy Lattisaw trivia....
***In 1979,when her debut album was being prepared, she was offered the song "Ring My Bell".Written and produced by Frederick Knight,it had different lyrics that were more suitable for a young singer. For whatever reason,Stacy didn't record it and it was given to Anita Ward instead. With lyric changes,it became a huge disco classic.Stacy's debut single was a discofied remake of "When You're Young And In Love". ***In the late 80s,Stacy was engaged to singer Johnny Gill. The two have recorded several hit duets and in 1984,they even recorded an entire album together.Unfortunately, they never got married. ***In 1980,Stacy was the opening act on the Jackson's 'Triumph' tour. ***In 1989,ten years after her debut album was released,Stacy left the music business and began singing gospel.

What's her background? That song attack of the name game is really strange, is that a robot singing? was this music marketed at kids and young teens?, i have now heard a few tracks online, i can't make it out what she was trying to do, and there is no info online about her

"Attack Of The Name Game" is a fun, novelty song that became a sizable R&B hit in the fall of 1982.It had a little rap to it and came as a surprise, since most of her other singles from this period were mostly ballads. The song features a gimmicky robot-sounding voice, which was quite common in those days. Interestingly,Stacy's producer throughout most of her career was Narada Michael Walden, who later produced much of Mariah Carey's first album.

I only know the Mariah loop. It's from her 1982 album 'Sneakin Out',which I consider her best album.

CinisterCee,if you can't find the 'Sneakin Out' album, why not just get her greatest hits CD? It contains "Attack Of The Name Game".
