Vagina

Vagina says I like Eminem and I like Rap. Prince is always number 1 but there's other good artists out there. You know Eminem is very Controversial. By the way he mentions Prince in his new song and he says don't quote me "I am the first king of Controversy." Not true PRINCE IS! Remember Tipper Gore who started the stickers on the lps? Purple Rain was targeted for Darling Nikki. WoW Masturbation was obscene. Prince is so clean compared to Eminem and not a thug carrying Guns and acting foolish. I happen to like when he Rapped in the Gett Off Videos. And the Symbol tour with all of the guys Tony,Tommy, Damon and Kirk was great. Remember Violet the Organ Grinder and when Prince is Roller skatin with those shorts and basketball socks ah so cute! And how about Sexy MF you fans are going to tell me Prince wasn't badder than anybody else and he goes YOU AND YOU AND YOU in the car . With that Typhoon and Gun Microphone.

A friend of mine just brought over a copy of Eminem's latest, "The Eminem Show". As I stated earlier, I wouldn't buy it, but I did burn the fuck out of it!

Bwaaa Haaa Haaa! evil

2 his credit though, or the record company's, he sure made it a bitch 2 copy. It's the 1st time I've encountered a message from my program (EZ CD Creator 5), "This disc is not recordable". I was shocked!

Lucky 4 me, I have the Premium Edition, and was able 2 upload it, then burn it...still, that was a bitch 2!

Anyway...I've got it, and didn't give Slim Shady not one thin dime.

(walkin' away, chuckling and singing)

Sorry Mama! I didn't mean 2 hurt u...I didn't mean 2 make u cry...La la la la

and this just in:

"The Eminem Show" continues to dominate the national album chart, selling another 808,000 copies last week--more than the rest of the Top 10 combined. The figure pushes the Eminem album's 15-day total to 2.4 million, making it the biggest-selling CD of the year.

The biggest selling album of the year?

Wow, such a sad, sorry comment on the state of our society. Not just bad for the morale, but pretty damn bad for music too.

At least some of his lyrics have a bit of wit, and the videos are kinda funny. But the music...yuck. Why is it always the most repetitive of music that gets the public's money?

The lyrics are amazing and the music is off the hook. I see nothing wrong with that. It's better than NSync and Britney being on top of the game.

You have a point. At least he does write his own stuff. He doesn't do as much sampling as most rappers do (at least stuff I can recognize). I still think the music part of what he does is real limited and repetitive, but that's how I see most rap music anyway. And though I'm certainly not fond of his attempt at singing, he put some effort into "Hailie's Song".

So your saying that if your a hip hop artist you cant sell that many records in a week.

I dont know how Eminem's lyrics are pop. They are anything but pop.

This album is very good. I think that some people werent really feeling his other albums so now they dont have a open mind about this one. He has some really good lyrics in this album better than any lyrics I've heard lately except for NAS. I really like NAS too because he is real and speakes about real stuff.

To each his own. But I think this album is really good.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rapper Eminem ( news - web sites) easily held off a sub-par debut by hard rock band Korn to rule the U.S. pop charts for a fourth consecutive week, according to sales data issued on Wednesday.

"The Eminem Show" sold about 530,000 copies in the week ended June 16, as its total rose to 2.9 million copies, the best-selling release of 2002, according to sales tracker Nielsen SoundScan. Eminem records for Interscope Records, a unit of Vivendi Universal .

Eminem Creams Korn

Eminem's "The Eminem Show" held off a rampant charge from Korn's "Untouchables," selling an impressive 530,000 units in its third full week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Web/Aftermath/Interscope album easily maintains its grip atop The Billboard 200, as Korn's long-awaited Immortal/Epic set arrives at No. 2 after selling of 434,000 units.

While the Eminem album suffered a 35% sales hit, the set sails to its fourth-straight week atop Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally, and has sold more than 2.9 million units in just over three weeks. Meanwhile, his single "Without Me" reaches a new peak position on Billboard's Hot 100, jumping 4-2 this week after a strong boost in radio play in crossover markets. It's Eminem's highest position on the Hot 100; his "The Real Slim Shady" peaked at No. 4 in 2000.

Em Squashes the (Papa) Roach
Wed Jun 26, 7:40 PM ET
By David Jenison

Papa Roach's bid to topple Eminem's chart-topping reign ended in a resounding squash.

The Eminem Show easily exterminated the Roachsters' Lovehatetragedy. The Eminem disc sold 381,000 for the week ended Sunday, according to SoundScan numbers, while the Papa Roach entry managed to move about 136,000 copies to open at number two.

That extends the rapper's rule to five weeks and pushes The Eminem Show's total sales past the 3 million mark. The question is whether the rapper has a shot at breaking his personal record of eight consecutive weeks at number one. We'll have a good clue next week as Em tackles the only real challenger in sight, Nelly's Nellyville, which hit stores yesterday.

Korn, which played second fiddle to Em last week, slipped into the number-three spot on the latest charts as Untouchables sold 132,000 copies. The album's combined two-week total of 566,000 copies is about 6,000 less than the band's 1999 album, Issues, sold in its debut week alone. (Issues' chart-topping debut in '99 kept Em mentor Dr. Dre and his Dr. Dre 2001 from the top spot, so Eminem can savor the revenge.)

I agree with those that think his music is vulgar. I don't particularly like all the negative comments directed at women, but I have to admit that I laughed my head off when I heard the lyric "nobody listens to techno". Em has talent for what he does and he is a breath of fresh air. He may not be to everyones taste, but at least it's something new and interesting to listen to. I am so sick of the crappy music being released these days. I don't even listen to the radio anymore. I find it so repetative and full of fluffy crap like Britney, Kylie, Shakira and all sorts of other no talent stripper-like women. His songs seem to demand attention and that says something to me. Not to mention that his videos are hilarious.

Eminem's Still Eminent on Pop Charts
Thu Jun 27, 7:19 AM ET
By Justin Oppelaar

NEW YORK (Variety) - Eminem ( news - web sites) steamrollered his way through the record industry's recession last week, hanging on to the No. 1 spot in the album charts for the fifth week running and going triple-platinum after barely a month in stores.

Record buyers snapped up just under 381,000 copies of "The Eminem Show" (Interscope) in the week ended Sunday, according to data compiled by SoundScan. The latest figure puts total sales to date at more than 3.3 million.

Nelly Unseats Eminem From No. 1 Spot
Wed Jul 3, 2:55 PM ET
By The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) - It's getting hot on the album chart for Nelly. The rapper unseated "The Eminem ( news - web sites) Show," which has been No. 1 for the past five weeks.

"Nellyville," which includes the No. 1 single "Hot in Herre," sold about 717,000 copies in its first week in stores, according to industry figures released Wednesday.

Nelly's second album topped Eminem's latest release, which has dominated the album chart since it came out on May 26. "The Eminem Show" dropped to No. 2 this week, selling another 308,000 copies for a total of 3.6 million.

Another rapper didn't fare nearly so well. Will Smith's "Born to Reign" debuted at No. 13, selling only about 60,000 copies. The disc features the song "Black Suits Comin'" from Smith's movie "Men in Black II," the sequel to the 1997 blockbuster "Men in Black," which opened Wednesday

FYI:

Nelly Simmers on Charts
Wed Jul 10, 9:15 PM ET
By David Jenison

What does Nelly have in common with the nation's weather? Both are hot, hot, hot.

For the second straight week, Nelly's Nellyville held the top position on the album charts as his hit single "Hot in Here" continued ruling the FM airwaves. Nelly, the man who last week ended Eminem ( news - web sites)'s five-week chart reign, closed out the week ended Sunday by selling another 447,000 copies, according to SoundScan numbers.

That gives Nelly 1.15 million copies sold in just two weeks, putting the St. Louis rapper just behind Eminem in the race for fastest-selling disc of 2002.

Seven weeks out, The Eminem Show continued selling strong, moving 263,000 copies to hold off two strong debuts.

The first of the new bows came from Murder Inc. CEO Irv Gotti, who sold 193,000 copies of Irv Gotti Presents...The Inc. to land at number three spot. The album features tracks by Murder Inc. artists like Ja Rule and Ashanti.

The East Coast rappers were followed by East Coast rockers Aerosmith ( news - web sites), whose compilation O Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits took number four with 137,000 copies. The group's latest best-of features 30 songs, including 18 Top 40 singles.

The rest of the Top 10 were all holdovers: Avril Lavigne's Let Go at five, Ashanti's self-titled debut at six, Korn's Untouchables at seven, N.O.R.E.'s God's Favorite at eight, Pink's M!ssundaztood at nine and Totally Hits 2002 hanging in at 10.

The soundtrack to (Lil') Bow Wow's NBA-themed flick Like Mike, debuted at 18. The film, which opened over the holiday weekend, came in fifth at the box office.

Two high-flying bands of the '90s--Oasis and Green Day--sputtered on the charts with their new albums. Brit-rockers Oasis opened at 23 with Heathen Chemistry, and pop-punk crossover heroes Green Day opened close behind at 27 with Shenanigans.

Chicago, who've been around long enough to match Aerosmith in Social Security ( news - web sites) credits, fared less well with their hits collection, The Very Best of Chicago: Only the Beginning. The two-disc album, featuring 39 hit singles, debuted at 38.

Two other compilations, So So Def Presents Definition of a Remix and Nas' From Illmatic to Stillmatic, debuted deep down on the charts at 117 and 123, respectively.

Meanwhile, on the singles chart, Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation" remained number one for a second straight week.

Here's a rundown of the Top 10 albums for the week ended July 7, according to SoundScan:

1. Nellyville, Nelly
2. The Eminem Show, Eminem
3. Irv Gotti Presents...The Inc., various
4. O Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits, Aerosmith
5. Let Go, Avril Lavigne
6. Ashanti, Ashanti
7. Untouchables, Korn
8. God's Favorite, N.O.R.E.
9. M!ssundaztood, Pink
10. Totally Hits 2002, various
