Now I don't like to spread rumors, but......

....this is something that you might be interested in discussing. Word on the internet is that there is a possiblity that the remaining members of The Clash will reunite with (get this!) Tim Armstrong of Rancid! omg

Now, I like Rancid and The Clash, as you know, are my favoite band of all time. But seriously, do you really think Tim could even compare to the legend of Joe Strummer? He's a big copycat in the same way Jason Kay copies Stevie, but now he's being offered an opportunity to join his favorite band. Can you believe it?

One of the reasons why The Clash wass the greatest Punk band is because they never reunited. They let the past be the past, unlike other contemporaries who decided to capitalize on their influential status. Now if that's something that these guys want to do, then I don't know if I can consider them to be the greatest now.

Another thing is that The Clash without Strummer is nothing. He was the heart and soul of that team, and I really can't imagine anyone else attempting to take his place and be successful at it. You had other bands that might've been good at this like Van Halen, The Doors or INXS (and don't get me started on them rolleyes). but The Clash has always been about Joe Strummer. If Mick Paul and whoever else want to get together and play with their disciples, that's fine, but they shouldn't call it The Clash. That would just be disrespectful not only to Joe but to their whole legacy. This is just my opinion though.

haven't TWO members of the clash died? if tim armstrong worked with the remaining members, it might as well just be a big audio dynamite album, shouldn't it?

No, I believe that only Strummer is gone. The rest are alive. Even though one side of me says that it would be nice to see them together again, it just wouldn't be the same as it was back in the day.
