That's a good one. Check this song out at:

Pumpkins, baby, Pumpkins! Kurt does have the "advantage" of having stopped making music at his peak, so overall his catalogue is probably stronger. But if you cut Billy off after Mellon Collie, I would definitely go with him. I am a fan of both bands but the Pumpkins offered more variety.
On a different note, what kind of music do ya'll think Kurt would be making today? Surely by now his sound would have changed considerably. As others have mentioned, when musicians die young they aren't burdened by all the lesser music they almost certainly would have made later in their careers.

I did find an old Kurt interview on VH1 where he says he and Courtney used to dance to it before breakfast: http://www.vh1.com/artist...vana.jhtml He actually called it 'flattering'.

I know I'm gonna get in trouble for that. nah. i'd long graduated high school before i had a chance to hear jocks chant that, so i figure i'm good for a few knuckleheads saying those three words before i go all bjork-in-an-airport on your ass.

I know I'm gonna get in trouble for that. Wouldn't be the 1st time. btw, that Duran Duran cover art is classic. Even if the band isn't. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Hmm...This is a tough one. For me, it's a draw. If your talking about lyrics, Kurt wins. You can literally feel his words hitting you in the pit of your stomach.
However, as a musician, Billy's better. I think Billy's done stuff musically that Kurt couldnt do(I doubt Kurt could have pulled off messing with electro sounds like the Pumpkins did on Adore). As for vocals, Kurt wins. Tho Im used to Billy's whiny voice, he's not that great in a technical sense.
