Long posts will do that for you!

Tip; COPY the entire text before you hit POST.

I have learned the hard way as well. Often, when I write a long post, I will first write it in Word.

I've had to do that too. Even more often with a long orgnote.

Nothing worse than writing a really detailed letter and then having it disappear cuz you get logged out. mad

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me

--

By fading a couple songs out just 2 or 3 seconds early, I was able to fit the entire album INCLUDING EXTENDED MIXES on one disc ... the current version in stores doesn't even have "hey you" on it ...

Disc one (total time 79:58)
1. The Cure - The Kiss (6:14)
2. The Cure - Catch (2:44)
3. The Cure - Torture (4:18)
4. The Cure - If Only Tonight We Could Sleep (4:53)
5. the cure - why can't i be you (extended mix) (8:08)
6. The Cure - How Beautiful You Are (5:14)
7. The Cure - The Snakepit (6:59)
8. The Cure - hey you (extended remix) (4:08)
9. The Cure - Just Like Heaven (3:32)
10. The Cure - All I Want (5:22)
11. The Cure - Hot Hot Hot!!! (Extended Mix) (7:01)
12. The Cure - One More Time (4:32)
13. The Cure - Like Cockatoos (3:40)
14. The Cure - The Perfect Girl (2:35)
15. The Cure - A Thousand Hours (3:24)
16. The Cure - Shiver And Shake (3:29)
17. The Cure - Fight (4:27)

My disc Two is lacking -- only 30 minutes of material, so bring on that deluxe edition!!

18. The Cure - To The Sky (5:15)
19. The Cure - A Japanese Dream (LONG VERSION NOT ON JOIN THE DOTS)
(5:51)
20. The Cure - breathe (4:48)
21. The Cure - sugar girl (3:15)
22. The Cure - a chain of flowers (4:55)
23. The Cure - Icing Sugar (remix) (3:23)
24. The Cure - snow in summer (3:27)

Disintegration

Ok -- I fucked with the track order on this. I tried to make the whole thing work as a double album - I think I'm almost there, take a look

Disc one (total time 57:08)

1. The Cure - Plainsong (5:14)
2. the cure - pictures of you (extended video mix) (8:07)
3. The Cure - 2 late (2:41)
4. The Cure - Closedown (4:17)
5. The Cure - Lovesong (Extended Mix) (6:20)
6. The Cure - babble (4:18)
7. The Cure - hello i love you (3:31)
8. The Cure - Lullaby (Extended Mix) (7:45)
9. The Cure - Never Enough (Big Mix) (6:07)
10. The Cure - Fascination Street (Extended Mix) (8:48)

Disc Two (total time 60:39)

1. the cure - Prayers For Rain (5:19)
2. the cure - the same deep water as you (9:21)
3. the cure - disintegration (8:21)

6. The Cure - Last Dance (4:43)
7. The Cure - out of mind (3:51)
8. The Cure - Homesick (7:06)
9. The Cure - harold & joe (5:09)
10. The Cure - Untitled (6:25)

Burn it for yourself and tell me what you guys think! (shall I upload the video mix of POY? good luck finding it elsewhere...)

Now here's one...

Wish
Disc One (total time 75:06)

1. the cure - open (fix mix) (6:55)
2. the cure - high (higher mix) (7:13)
3. The Cure - Apart (6:38)
4. The Cure - From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea (7:44)
5. The Cure - Wendy Time (5:13)
6. The Cure - Doing The Unstuck (Unreleased 12" Version) (5:55)
7. the cure - friday i'm in love (strangelove mix) (5:28)
8. The Cure - Trust (5:33)
9. the cure - A Letter To Elise (12 inch extended remix) (7:03)
10. The Cure - Cut (5:55)
11. The Cure - To Wish Impossible Things (4:43)
12. The Cure - End (6:46)

Disc Two (total time 79:25)

13. The Cure - Purple Haze (Virgin Radio Version) (3:18)
14. The Cure - High (Trip Mix) (3:28)
15. The Cure - the big hand (4:53)
16. The Cure - Burn (6:37)
17. The Cure - scared as you (4:12)
18. The Cure - a foolish arrangement (3:51)
19. the cure - a letter to elise (blue mix) (6:35)
20. The Cure - this twilight garden (4:45)
21. The Cure - play (4:36)
22. The Cure - halo (3:47)
23. the cure - doing the unstuck (demo) (6:16)
24. the cure - heart attack (2:42)
25. the cure - old england (6:13)
26. the cure - uyea sound (5:24)
27. the cure - cloudberry (5:15)
28. The Cure - the three sisters (4:01)
29. The Cure - off to sleep (3:32)

This is as close to what the deluxe version will probably look like as we can get right now. Of course, they won't replace those album versions on disc one with the extended mixes .. but look at this disc two --
b-sides, the excellent elise blue mix, and seven "lost wishes". four of these were released on a fan club cassette back then, and three more surfaced on the internet, all are instrumental and we all know how robert loves putting those instrumental demos on the bonus discs...

regarding the version of "...elise" that is on my disc one: i recently discovered this, has anyone else heard it? it is NOT the "blue mix" that was released on a 12 inch -- this extended version was released only as a DJ promo, and hasn't popped up anywhere else since. It's more of a classic extended mix, but with the same arrangement as the lp version (whereas the blue mix has totally different drums, and sounds like it belongs on "mixed up")...

and finally, for now:

Bloodflowers
Disc one (total time 78:11)

1. the cure - out of this world (6:39)
2. the cure - watching me fall (11:14)
3. the cure - where the birds always sing (5:43)
4. the cure - Maybe Someday (Hybrid Mix) (4:58)
5. the cure - coming up (6:25)
6. the cure - the last day of summer (12 inch) (9:25)
7. the cure - There Is No If (3:42)
8. the cure - The Loudest Sound (5:09)
9. the cure - thirty nine (album version) (7:18)
10. the cure - Bloodflowers (7:28)
11. the cure - Possession (5:17)
12. the cure - spilt milk (4:53)
Nice. Most the songs that were recorded for this album -- that we have available. "coming up" of course is on the vinyl version only - "possession" is off join the dots - "spilt milk" surfaced on the net a few years ago, and is one of their best ever, i think. god, that guitar lick! I didn't have room for the original "just Say yeS" but it's on disc two.

Disc Two (total time 46:04)

13. the cure - out of this world (12") (7:06)
14. the cure - just say yes (original) (4:34)
15. the cure - cuT HEre (4:12)
16. The Cure - Signal to Noise (4:04)
17. The Cure - Wrong Number (6:01)
18. The Cure - just say yes (demo - lost flower #1).mp3
19. The Cure - unreleased bloodflower #2 (3:21)
20. The Cure - unreleased bloodflower #3 (2:40)
21. The Cure - unreleased bloodflower #4 (5:24)
22. The Cure - unreleased bloodflower #5 (4:42)

Again, this disc is lacking, but this is all that's available. There are two more songs that have been mentioned that were recorded at this time - "heavy world" and "you're so happy (you could kill me)" - the lyrics to the latter were even posted on the old thecure.com (and a cover by some anonymous band was even thought to be the real deal for some time). I suspect "wrong number" is also from the "bloodflowers" sessions (as it was originally planned as an electronica album - see "possession") but I can't prove it yet. And then we have those "unreleased bloodflowers" ... posted on the internet and confirmed to be real by robert, these are like the "lost wishes" - instrumental demos from the album sessions. I'm sure we'll see these on the deluxe edition. only one has a title, the first one "just say yes".

I'm so tripping out over this I can't stand it! But that's a good thing. So many projects, never enough time. But you've really got my mouth watering to make my own sets complete. You've done really fantastic work here. When I'm coherent and ready, I'll be back. Thanks Mr. Verbs!

Okay, so I'ma do these one at a time. Mostly cuz I can't find a lot of my discs. lol But this one I think I have how I want it.

Three Imaginary Boys/Boys Don't Cry

I used the US version (Boys Don't Cry) as a template for the first half as it hangs together better as an album I think. Plus, there really are 2 albums worth of material from all of their '78/'79 material. I use "Weedy Burton" as an intermission between the 2 halves and they have their own kinda flavor, the first being the more pop, the 2nd being the more punk. I quite dig it.

1. Boys Don't Cry 2:35
2. Plastic Passion 2:14
3. 10:15 Saturday Night 3:42
4. Accuracy 2:17
5. Jumping Someone Else's Train 2:57
6. Another Journey By Train 3:05
7. Subway Song 1:58
8. Killing An Arab 2:22
9. Fire In Cairo 3:23
10. World War 2:36
11. Grinding Halt 2:49
12. Another Day 3:44
13. Three Imaginary Boys 3:15

14. The Weedy Burton 0:53 INTERMISSION***

15. I'm Cold 2:47
16. Pillbox Tales aka "Listen" 2:25
17. Do the Hansa 2:38
18. Object 3:01
19. Meathook 2:17
20. Foxy Lady 2:29
21. It's Not You 2:50
22. So What 2:36
23. Winter 3:45
24. Faded Smiles 2:15
25. Play With Me 3:28
26. I Want To Be Old 2:35
27. I Just Need Myself 2:12
28. I Dig You 3:22
29. I'm A Cult Hero 2:55

TOTAL: 79:42

I was able to fit on all the studio material on that I wanted to include with this disc. Some of the stuff included on the 2nd disc of the remaster was a bit sketchy and didn't sound like the rest. Plus, I'm making separate discs for Peel Sessions, demos and live material. I realize that a few things like "Another Journey By Train" and the Cult Hero cuts are a bit later, but they just don't sound right with "Seventeen Seconds" to me. A few of the blocks I quite like are the travel block - Jumping...Another Journey...and Subway Song; the xenophobic/dystopian block of Killing...Cairo...World War...and Grinding Halt; and all the selfish bratty "I" songs at the end. mr.green I'm quite a fan of this album. Although it was nothing like what was to come, it was a strong start and showcased what a good pop writer Robert was already. I was very happy with the remaster for this. biggrin

Oh and I put all of the songs exclusive to "Three Imaginary Boys" all together so I could remember what was from what more clearly (Object, Meathook, Foxy Lady and It's Not You).

Very, very nice -- flow, concepts and the intermission! excellent work, G!

And you're right tho - the BDC album definately flowed better than 3IB.

Thanks. mr.green

You know what sucks tho? That the Seventeen Seconds tapes got destroyed. That's just about my favorite album of theirs, and there isn't shit as far as extra material to include with it. Bums me out. There's too much from Faith also to include it all together with SS a la "Happily Ever After". I really have a hard time making those ones work out, cuz I don't like including multiple versions of the same song on one disc either. pout
