A few years back, a friend of mine managed to book them at Numbers (a local goth club). I was shocked to find out they were still around!

Eldritch is most likely waiting for that huge recording contract that he thinks the Sisters Of Mercy so greatly deserve. He'll be waiting for another twenty years. I'm sure the Sisters still perform live occasionally in Europe.

I disagree. I thought it to be more pop and a bit of pompous than any mission album. I mean it has a dark sound and his voice is very deep and gothy. But I find that many of the songs were more dancey oriented (the singles at least) and sounded similar. I also thought the band was more based on looking gothic, than being gothic.

Take this with a grain of salt as I am not knowlegeable about Sisters that much (though I know first last and always is revered and that not much came out of the SOM camp after floodland). I am also not big nor up on the goth scene as a whole. I sort of find the whole thing in a "in retrospect we weren't punks actually, but goths" way.
