Q-Tip's Unreleased Kamaal CD

Just heard it eek

Why wasn't this released? Much better jazz fusion than anything Prince has done, in my book.

That be great if it were jazz fusion record... confuse

lol ... just bullshittin'. It was a stellar record, that may still see the light of day after "Live At the Renaissance" gets released.

Well, I see what you mean. It's not traditional jazz fusion, but more like a jazz-hip hop fusion.

It's a funny little record. Really has a late-night small jazz club feel, very mellow, but not all wanky look-at-me playing. And his voice is just sort of used as another instrument in the mix.

It was a fusion of live jazz and rapping.

My cut was "Heels". Haven't listened to the single promo in a while though.

nod One of my favorite albums of the last few years!!

I mentioned this before, but I was so mad that Arista wouldn't release this because they claimed it was too "different", but then they released Speakerboxx/The Love Below 2 years later...
