Green Day

What is you guys' overall opinion of them? I think, compared to the likes of 50 Cent, Usher, Ashlee Simpson, etc., they're a highly tolerable mainstream act and display genuine talent and acceptable music. I don't own any of their stuff, but along with Coldplay and perhaps a couple other units, they're one of the few acts that are enjoying mainstream success that I don't mind.

I bought 'american idiot' last week...thought it was a very strong album. especially blvd of broken dreams, which i found very hautning. That's the only album i have of them but i liked it very much.

Do yourself a favor and get Warning. That was their last album that was slept on pretty much. Of course Dookie is a classic. They really have not made a bad album yet actually.

Green Day's fuckin awesome! I bought "American Idiot" and it's a great album. What's really amazing is that with that album, they've crossed themselves over to a whole new generation of fans. I really think they're that NEXT classic rock band.

Also, I like their recent style change. Makes them look alot more like rock stars.

Green Day's pretty darn cool, but they're in danger of being over-played.

current cd is pretty good...they still hold that attitude that they're so underground and exclusive ...seems funny sometimes.

I've been into Green Day ever since Dookie back in '94. These guys are keeping the true Punk spirit alive if you ask me. I think the bands that imitate them aren't punk though (Simple Plan, New Found Glory, Sum 41).

I saw them live last year, and let me tell you, them kids were fucking rioting in the audience. I've never been in a mosh pit so aggressive. It was crazy. eyepop

I just bought "American Idiot" and so far I'm enjoying it.The song "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is what got me into it. Also I was impressed with the song "Jesus of Surburbia" and how they broke it down into five different parts, that's pretty cool. I've never seen that done before.

All in all a very good album.

American Idiot contains better music than just about any other recently released album that's out there right now. It's interesting, political and fun. It's better than anything on the Billboard top 10 right now. I'm a fan of the band and I think this is their best work in years.

Ever since they went on the MTV video awards, where they bit their tongues, I gave up on them. They have sold out their punk fans and society. No true punk would even accept an MTV award.

O get over yourself! I cant stand that bullshit mentality over an artist not being punk if they hit the mainstream. It's not like they're out there working with the hottest producer out there. They're still Green Day of old, only thing different is that they're selling millions of records and get played on MTV.

With that said, they have gotten a bit less punk and a little more rock and roll, which I actually like. Their new look is very much inspired by classic rock rather than punk.

Regardless, American Idiot is a great album. Definitely a classic.
