Usher wants you to ignore Kanye. R+B hunk USHER is the latest star to attack KANYE WEST over comments he made at an all-star Hurricane Katrina fundraiser a week ago (02SEP05). The YEAH! singer claims the rapper was wrong to point the finger of blame at President GEORGE W BUSH, who he accused of being a racist, during the telethon. And the R+B star, who will be among performers appearing on an MTV telethon tonight (10SEP05), states, "I wasn't mad at Kanye's statement - that's his opinion - but it's obviously not the opportunity or the time to poke fun or appoint blame. "This is an opportunity where we all need to come together - musicians, actors, politicians - and help the (American) Gulf region." Usher is grateful that none of his family members live near the disaster zones in southeast America - but he feels like he's lost the musical heritage of New Orleans, Louisiana, which was left devastated by the tragedy. He explains, "The music that we listen to every day... was founded in New Orleans... This city is basically gone, the history of it has gone."

I said the same thing, if he actually played an instrument and listened to the greats, it would hold like glue, but he doesn't does he?
Life is about opportunity: Kanye took it. [Edited 9/10/05 3:57am]

Lets call a spade a spade.
Generally speaking, 2004 was the year of the Usher (debatable, yes as we all know that Prince holds the true title). 2005 is turning out to be the year of the Kanye, and Usher doesn't like it. Even at the Grammy's when Usher lost out to Prince, he made no bones about how he was more worthy of winning, but because he lost out to Prince it was 'ok, just this once' because he looked up to him. I have no doubt Usher is just crushed that the spotlight has changed over to Kanye. Kanye was right in what he said (and when he said it). What makes Usher think HE has the time / opportunity to say that Kanye doesn't have the time / opportunity. Usher is just a syrupy R&B flake who's a good dancer at best. Kanye does hop hop, self expression. Xperience the Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com/

Good for you, Usher for saying that.
I still am annoyed by you and wish you would quit at music. The world already has a Michael Jackson and the world already has a Bobby Brown.

usher needs to stop worrying about what Kanye talks on about on Relief Telethons and worry about how to keep the zipper on his pants zipped up. I believe somebody else on here said that next week he'll be calling Kanye for a track on his next album, and I believe this is right. Usher is so damn phony now, why don't he concentrate on how to buy rubbers instead of how to get fresh cut flowers for his house everyday... I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I was watching a commerical the other day where celebrities were urging people to help the hurricane victims, and Nicole Ritchie says "You don't have to be a celebrity to help out". Now, I know she was reading from a script, but the retardedness of the statement is just one more indication of just how screwed up our society has become. Like us regular folk were just sitting at home with our fingers up our noses waiting for the famous folks to lead the way.
I guess my point is that it makes me appreciate even more Kanye going off script instead of reciting some inane babble, written by a Hollywood hack. Agree or disagree with his words, and I happen to agree, it was the right time and place to be real.
