bloc party, louis xiv....

i may be totally late on these bands but i just heard their cds last night and immediately purchased them. are any of you familiar with them? when i hear bands like this i get so excited...makes me think rock stands a chance of taking the spotlight again in the commercial music world. i mean, i know we've got the arcade fire, radiohead, u2, and franz ferdinand but their stuff is rarely played on the radio (well, ok, u2 still gets airplay).

anyway, are you familiar with these bands? what about the redwalls? someone just told me about them, too. are they any good?

apparantly i'm in new music mode!

I like Bloc Party. Will be interesting to see where they go next. They remind of a young U2 and hopefully they won't go down that arena rock route.

'Little Thoughts' was definetely one of the top tunes of last year. I here a lot of people comparing Bloc Party to The Cure but I think they're worthy of much more than that.

Arcade Fire are for me far and away the most impressive band to emerge this year. Funeral is amazing

Bloc Party and Arcade Fire are my current favourites.

"Silent Alarm" and "Funeral" I think are always going to be on my stereo.

I've only heard Bloc Party on the radio, It hasn't grabbed me too much yet, so I haven't picked up the CD. This thread is making me rethink that, however...
