One Final View on the Statements of Kanye West

Well we all know the Statements that Kanye made about Bush and the Relief efforts or Lack of I should say, and he was a 100% justified in it and it was total truth. BUT once again I see the "Benefit" Concerts forming and Telethons and ITS great to Give, but I think what always happens is we "Throw" money at a problem and expect it to be solved. I can bet that the people that have been effected would rather see people coming from everywhere helping clear areas and stuff like that as opposed to hear about a telethon. I am from NYC and after 9/11 the thing that was interesting was that people came from EVERYWHERE to dig through rubble and debris. Its great to make statements, but I think statements should be made by people actually DOWN there and helping and right in the middle of it. I saw footage Of SEAN PENN rescuing 40+ people, digging in Mud and pulling bodies out of water, the same goes for Harry Connick Jr. This could be why SEAN is kind of hated by people, because he always says what he means and does what he wants, he has no problem with going there and helping because its what he should do, and it does more for people that THROWING money at them or "talking", its about doing. I remember in the 80's before LiVE AID happenend i saw the giving, Bob Geldof didnt just RAISE MONEY he went there and helped, the same could be said of BONO, and look at Angelina Jolie, I mean she is adopting every kid in the world it seems. I also remember when SEAN PENN came back from IRAQ and he told it like it was, and AMERICA called him a TRADER and honestly those people are the Traders, I think every person that is behind the war in IRAQ should have to go there and Fight it, talk is cheap, in every respect.

I completely agree. And just this year I had to hear people yapping on about the Live 8 concerts and how they weren't raising any money and were therefore pointless. $100m here or there isn't going to help poverty in Africa, it's the Western governments' foreign policies that can actually make a difference, but of course trying to put public pressure on the leaders at the G8 summit wasn't as good as doing a quick whip round to some dead

I don't see why donations are needed at all. The US is the richest country in the world. Just stop working on the next space shuttle for about a month and you've got the cash. What's more important? Why should the general public fix Bush's mistakes?

Exactly and as usual the PRESS is ripping into someone like SEAN PENN because he brought a Photographer down there with him to document the event. What they failed to report was that SEAN PENN is documenting the Poverty and Lack of support we give to our citizens, while we are someone destroying another country. He not only is documenting the horror that is going on down there but the acts of Just normal people who are helping out down there, but of course the PRESS plays it like SEAN PENN "mr hollywood", I wish one of these "so called" people in the press would just shut up and go down there and help instead of bad mouthing someone like SEAN PENN who is THERE!!! Obviously this is a direct response of the criticism that PENN gave AMerica for its destruction of Iraq, but of course people made it like he was a "trader", I mean seriously do u think PENN wants Soldiers to die??
