"Me for you" is my favorite matter of fact listening to it right now!!!! I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back. I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there. I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish. And I am

They had some heavier soul before those hits when they were produced on Stax by Isaac Hayes.

u consider "BW" good? As much as I love both groups (EWF and the Emotions) I had the same sentiment. Was the song popular? Yes. Good?

I have the Best of Emotions collections which has all their hits from Best of My love, to Rejoice, etc.... I can listen to the whole thing over and over.
I have another best of from their earlier years but never got into it for some reason. About 5 years ago, I had tickets to see them in a show at Lincoln Center called "Bigger than Bubblegum" which was supposed to a musical story of their life, but it was cancelled due to the producer stealing their money or something. I found this out the night of the show, New Years Eve too!

That's my song!!!! Makes me teary-eyed at times. I saw them a couple of years ago at the Black & White Ball, and it was an amazing and uplifting, and funky performance wrapped into one. I love "Boogie Wonderland" and still listen to it. I grew up on that song, and it's funky and fun to dance to...harmless. They have plenty of songs that have already been listed that weren't radio hits, but quality nonetheless. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

Other than "Boogie Wonderland," which I like mainly for nostalgia, their songs had a strong spiritual undercurrent to them, which I appreciate more over time. Read a most recent thread on The Emotions. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
