Jazz in the D

Well I attended the Detroit Internationa Jazz Festival on Saturday and Sunday.

I saw the Zawinul Syndicate and was blown away!!! Who else here likes them ?

Joe Zawinul had the girl from Zap Mama singing on some songs too!!! They tore

it UP!!!I also saw McCoy Tyner Trio, Randy Weston, Toots Thielmans and KOA

(featuring Airto). I missed The Soul Survivors (featuring Less McCann) but I

was happy to see the real jazz legends. The Blind Boys of Alabama are

performing on Monday so I might check 'em out. Who else attended?

I was down there too.... I had a great time! I was there to see Mccoy, but I enjoyed everyone, especially Ron Blake. It was good to see so many people enjoying REAL JAZZ!!! The festival has been sucking the last couple of years using R&B acts as headliners!
