For years, even up till this point, people have deemed Janet the 'normal' Jackson of the bunch, but if you think about it, is that really the case?

Compared to the otherworldly basketcases that are Michael and LaToya, she's not so bad, but from criticizing Madonna for her provocative antics and then, only a year later, shedding her clothes herself and placing increazingly tawdry carnal fantasies on her albums as the years go by, to her nasty breast implants and nose jobs, to her horrible taste in men, to the Superbowl incident that was maybe or maybe NOT an accident depending on who you want to believe, to her seeming inability to grow up in her late 30s and stop singing about how much she wants you to "spank it" or "play with her strawberry" and shaking her ass in front of the music video camera (not to mention acting like a naive little girl in interviews)... the woman, IMO, fits right in with the mini-bag of nuts that is her family.

Keep in mind that I still LOVE her music pre-2001, however; knock off the now-absurd sex-kitten act, Janet, and you'll probably be fine, in that respect.

Janet is always weird. U ever seen a interview (from the the last decade or so) where she can communicate properly? Latoya and the other brothers can (bar mike).

Next to mike, janet always been weird outside of her safe music she makes.

Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Marlon, and Randy are the "sane/normal" Jacksons. You know why? because they haven't been caught in any scandal or controversy.

As an agnostic, I happen to think deeply religious people are a bit odd. I can't tell you how much I've been frustrated at all the preachy God-Squad MJ fans on his boards putting everything good happening down to "faith".

You could say Jackie is the most "normal" since he's the only one who hasn't had plastic surgery.

The only real problem with Janet is that she won't evolve and grow as an artist.Her only real point of view these days is "I love sex and I love having orgasms",lol.She keeps making predictable,sex-themed R&B albums.Considering everything that's going on in the world right now,surely she can find other things to write/sing about? And then there was the ill-advised SuperBowl stunt,which only reinforced the perception that she is sex-obsessed.But instead of learning from her mistakes,there she was in that tacky Jermaine Dupri video,trying to look like a naughty schoolgirl.

In her defense,Janet has made some social commentary through her music with Rhythm Nation, of course, What About That...well I thought the whole Velvet Rope cd was quite interesting and introspective... among others. Yes, much of that was early in career, so maybe she was just a late bloomer as far as exploing her sexuality and sensuality. In addition, at least Janet HAS RECORDED some significant material: there are many other artists who NEVER explore issues at all. Maybe with her next cd, Janet will "comment" about her most recent crises through her music. We'll just have to wait and see.

which was her crowning achievement up until now imo.

it was the first time I started liking her music more since it had
an edge and seemed to have matured very well.

but sadly, she went and made several albums with very easy music n

I dont think her nose is that bad...ok, it's a bit shaven, I agree. But it's nowhere along the lines of either Latoya's or, God forbid, Michaels. I doubt it'll get that bad.


BTW, does anyone know when the fuck Janet's gonna finish up her new CD? I hear it's supposed to be hot and a return to her dance roots. I hope so. Damita Jo was good, but there were too many mid-tempo songs on there. I think if she goes the direction she used for "All Nite(Dont Stop) and "R&B Junkie", she'll do fine.

what is the definition of "normal"? Who are we to judge people for the choices they make in their lives. Common janet likes sex. WOW thats so shocking, it would be weird if she was a 39 year old virgin. she likes to feel young by getting plastic surgery and wearing clothes that some people say are revealing or too young for her age. Doesn't nearly every women have this mid life crisis where they want to recapture their youth by dressing sexy. She flashed her boob, for publicity. Now that may not be a classy or an admirable thing but its highly out of the ordinary, you get people that streak at nearly every major sporting event and celebrities posing for playboy to further their career from Cindy Crawford to Tiffany.

so i think that janet may have made some bad choices in recent years that some of you may have not liked and thats fair enough but to question her sanity is taking it a step too far. The tread should have been called "Do you still like janet?" or "is janet making some bad choices?" because at the end of the day she hasn't exactly change her name to an unpronounceable symbol, or dangled her baby over a balcony or insist to be called Ester (which came out of nowhere) when she is not performing.
