In other new release news, apparently the Young Americans 30th Anniversary edition is being postponed to spring of 2006. I wonder how they'll justify the name. confuse I don't get it. The material's all ready to go! Just put it out already.

And apparently there's been some talk of 'Toy' finally getting a release.

David Bowie revealed name of previously unrecorded song 'A Hole in the Ground' for Toy album in GQ interview, also said he was hoping to have the album released in a couple of months.

i wish bowie would just release the damn toy album already, i'm tired of hearing about it. lol

i'll probably pick up the 80s edition of those EMI discs - i really wish i could get all of 'baal' on CD, but at least i can get a decent copy of 'drowned girl', and i can finally have 'underground' without having to get the 'labyrinth' soundtrack (which, i know, i should own...i just can't bring myself to spend the money).

as for my own bowie tracklist, well, that's something i can show ya better than i can tell ya. i've made a bunch of homemade 'sound+visions' for people over the year - and like francis l. said so well, they're all different, ya know...

i'm like those tibetan monks with the sand paintings - once i make one for somebody, i erase all the evidence from my hard drive and start from scratch for the next person. keeps it interesting.

It's odd. Think "Port of Amsterdam" and "My Death", only much more so.

seriously, i don't! when i get in a bowie mood, i usually want to listen to whole albums. when i make a comp for someone, i'll listen to it for a while before i give it to them, then i'll go back to listening to albums.

sometimes at work i like to select bowie on my mp3 player and do a random jukebox thingie - that's as close as i have to a personalized compilation.

i don't have any personal comps of anyone that i keep for very long. i don't know why that is.

i finally got around to buying a copy of 'baal' on vinyl a year or two ago. i found a nifty little 7" version of the e.p. with a fun gatefold sleeve. believe it or not, i listened to it for the first time - EVER - this week.

i like it...it's pretty much what i expected it to be, but i like it.

then again, i've been hooked on his version of 'alabama song' recently, so i'm in an odd state of mind...

For some reason I thought you bought Baal when we were schlepping around Chicago in May.

I remember being there as you were looking through it. You got it for a great price too, didn't ya?

There were a ton of cool 45's there I would've liked to buy, just for decorative purposes. I was at a record show a few years back where they had like 50 of his 45's w/ picture sleeve in this jumbo plastic carrying case, all in perfect condition. Of course it was $500, but I sure did want it.

They had lots at the time. I couldn't remember what 45's I owned of his, so I didn't get any that day. I should type out a list and then compare next time I'm in Chicago. I still say you need to hack your Grace down into a lovely Warhol 4-some.

i may not hack it up - i can't bring myself to do it! - but it certainly needs a frame. i love the album cover for 'portfolio' - it's so decadent and studio 54-ish.

The only Bowie song I'm totally sick of is John I'm Only Dancing. It seems like every Bowie cd I have has this song. I see it's on this compilation twice, too.
