I think that alot of the people look better before the retouching.

I tought some of the pre-retouching pics were better
than the worked photo's.

Especially the first Erykah Badu pic and some of the
Alicia photos. They look so much nicer BEFORE having
any airbrushing and touch-ups done.

Id like some more reality and warmth instead of just
plastic vampirism looks. *shudder*

Exactly but that is what the children see and think that is what I want to look like when the artist themselves don't even look like that.

nod

the image represented in those magazines is just unachievable
only about 2% of people look like that. not even the people in
the foto's look like that since they're all touched up to look
like an ideal reather than themselves.

For those of us who look at Playboy, Maxim and all of the other "gentlemen's" magazines, I can attest to the power of photoshopping. A year ago, I went to an event in my city called Glamourcon, which is a convention of sorts for Playboy Playmates and other pin-up models to get autographs, peddle their erotic wares and hopefully get signed up for work by other modeling agencies. Generally, most of the women at the event were quite attractive, and they were quite nice and friendly too, though I would say that there were only a handful of Playmates and pin-up girls that I considered to be drop-dead stunningly beautiful. Most of the others who looked amazingly beautiful on film were very pretty, but they weren't any different from a lot of women I have seen in clubs. Thre were some others who looked droolingly good on film but in person looked sort of plain. There were others who in person looked liked they used too much makeup or stayed too long in the tanning booth, and of course there were those who were quite surgically enhanced and/or endowed with a pair of assets. So we have to remember that what we see in film or print isn't necessarily what we get in person. I just hope that there aren't a lot of teen girls or young women out there starving or purging themselves to live up to a beauty standard which isn't totally real to begin with.

they do look really cartoony, and the thing i noticed was the ass. in some they add ass, in others they take away ass.... it's like there's some kind of ass quota and they have to proper amount..... but not too much.

It's Ass Communism! they are redistributing the ass!

Toni Braxton looked way better before the retouching. She look the exact same way! Lil' Kim looked retouched before the retouch.

Halle and Vivica's age is showing.

Some of these pictures are really old.
