Well, he do date black women...lol

Pill, Bill may date a sister but he has miles to go in order to understand the plight of the Black Experience and this is not shocking at all. I have heard from male friends of mine (who are Black) that date women of different races that they have observed similiar displays of ignorance. So, this isn't uncommon at all and indicates that we have a way to go in race relations and dispelling myths about Black Americans.

I hear ya' dear...

Trust me, I know...

That was just a politically corrected joke....lol

I worked in a guitar store located in a very well-to-do section of town. The ignorance of some of the people I came in contact with was sad, to say the least. They were nice 'n all, but when it came to anything dealing with what goes on in any neighborhood other than their own - for instance,my neighborhood, aka the ghetto - they were so far removed from reality, it was laughable in a sad way. Unfortunately, so many of our brethren are just as removed from the realities some of us face.

Kudos to Kanye West for bringing some raw passion to the proceedings - at least this gets folks talking about the issues instead of tip-toeing over them.

The look on Mike Myer's face was priceless...

i'm tired of ppl sticking up 4 raping, looting (plasmas, jewlery etc.. not essentials such as food, water which i am sure both black and white did), shooting at those trying 2 help and calling it racism. fact is there are complete idiots in the world doing this during this time and it's not racism, it's just stupidity. and 4 the complete horrific way the government responded isn't racism it's just plain stupidity. the way the war was handled and the way this was handled, this could have happened on the west coast and this government would have responded the same way. becuz that's just the way they are. stop defending the actions of criminals and passing it off as racism. what's wrong is wrong. they were not given orders to shoot "black" ppl they were threatening 2 shoot those who are committing these crimes.

I think YOU are missing the point...What happened in New Orleans should not have ever went down Holloman...The National Guard should have been sent down there on the second day...Because there was no presence there, people went buckwild..People were fighting just to survive...Sure there were a few cats that were stealing (and raping) just because they could...But that was very sparse activity...The majority of the people "looting" were taking the essentials and were dying in the streets...If you know anything about New Orleans it ranks anually as one of the highest murder rates in the country...And it's also part of ONE OF THE POOREST states...So, the question you have to ask yourself is: Why did it take so long to get the National Guard, health and food supplies and a military presence down there instead of being a self ritcheous blowhard...I think that's the only question that needs to be asked...

if you did read my post you would have read that I completely blame the government for their lack of quickness in responding. I also believe this government would have blown it even if this happened on the west coast.

I think the days of being politically correct in a post 911 nation is over...the stakes are too high...i feel that Kanye is not the most eloquent dude in the world (He is known for saying some outlandish shit)...But what he said came from the heart and has a lot of truth...Replace "black people" with "poor people" and you will understand what the man is trying to say...And he's not alone...A lot of people feel that the poor (aka...miniorities...aka black...) got the shaft...it's quite simple...And when you see people being described as looters in a time of survival and government officials threatening to shoot to kill the "looters," it's insane...I think you should be more outraged at that then what some rapper said on a fucking telethon...Cool?

people can say what they want when, cuz there is freedom of speech. but in such is my opinion of where i'm tired of racism always coming about and being put above the main issue. there are black, white and others all whom maybe poor or whatever trying to get out of new orleans and survive. while doing this there are those looting for essentials which you know what, i would do the same thing. food, water, diapers etc. you also have people looting stupid crap, plasmas and jewelry. you also have people being raped during a time when people are just trying to get out of the flood and be safe. you also have helicopters being shot at while trying to come and help. you also have people going into houses and forcing out the owners with guns. now yes new orleans is known for a high crime rate but this is what the government is trying to prevent by saying they are not going to stand for it. it has NOTHING to do about race. it has to do with morons doing idiotic things during this crisis. my 2 cents.. ur 2 cents whatever is cool is cool. i'm just tired of race being an issue in everything that goes awry. the government blew it like i said and like i said b4, they would have blown it if it were done else where cuz that's just the type of government we have. it has nothing to do with race.

I think class and race are together in this case...And if you can't see that then you are very naive...this is not a case of a kneejerk reaction soundbite or some debate on affirmative action....I saw the shit go down...I saw MOSTLY poor, black folks on TV getting shitted on...I guess you didn't hear why some of the people were shooting at the helicopters...They were shooting at them to make them save their own families who were fucking dying...This is not a "I'm tired of race being used" issue...This is the truth...the people that were left behind were mostly poor and black...that's the facts...And to take a sanctimonious attitude about the whole thing is frankly insulting...Your outrage should be leveled at the government...Motherfuckers just got the right to vote no less than 40 years ago...What's wrong with this picture?????

yes u r right, this is clearly a race/poor class issue. nevermind the fact our government are morons themselves and would have screwed this up in boston if it would have happened. this is clearly just going to go on and on... let's just hope from here on people get the care they need and let's focus on that.

I will go back well over 30 years with this, Elvis Presely was once asked about his views on the Vietnam war, his response "he is an entertainer, and rather keep his personal views to himself". Perfect.

The bottom line if all the "entertainers" today want to express themselves which is fine, do something other than play "monday morning quaterback" and tell us what most of us seem to know all ready. Why not run for a political office, if they are popular as they say they should have no problem getting elected. They won't do it, for the obvious reason...

I think the local/state government had no plan and no idea how to handle this, if a city is 30 feet below sea level off the gulf coast, they should have planned better than this. Bottom line is they did not.

They should take most of the blame.

just saw the video of it. Who the f*ck does that guy think he is!

They did NOT give the army permission to shoot black people !!! that's a horrible thing to say in a situation like this. that's just evil...trying to instigate a riot...that's what he's doing.

Taking advantage of the victims to gain some street-cred, that's even worse than looting. (and i'm only talking about those running of with tv-sets)

what have you ever done kanye? besides spreading hate throught a degenerate form of music and leeching of the community you say you're trying to help.

all those military men, fire-fighters coast guards,...who are working for days without a break trying to help as much as they humanly can! how are they supposed to do their job when an air-head celebrity like this calls them murderers on national TV.

this guy belongs in jail ! what he's doing is what radio stations were doing in rwanda back then !trying to fire up hate in a time like this is a crime !

and all you guys are supporting this ? I'm sorry but i don't understand that...I really don't...not only is he taking advantage of other people's misfortune but he's also attacking the relief-workers in the field. I'm sory but this is slander ! This guy...i don't know what he was thinking...but this is disgusting.

cool your jets. bushy'll probably ignore kanye's statement the way he's ignored the mothers of soldiers killed in iraq. the bush administration creates its own reality of the america that it wants, and ignores all the rest. dissent doesn't matter these days...or so the bush administration would like you to think.
