Notorious B.I.G.'s Ready To Die or Life After Death?

I can't choose which one to buy yet. After watching VH1's 30 Years Of Hip-Hop special and getting in detail in the WEST and EAST coast feuds and the struggle between Tupac and Biggie, I just became interested in Biggie's raps and most importantly, his flow. Both his Ready To Die and Life After Death albums are hip-hop landmarks of the the 90's-era and showed the transition in hip-hop becoming even more commercial and mainstream after Dre's Chronic album. I think I would prefer the Life After Death double-album because it shows his street credibility a little more and what he has seen in the streets since it's a double-disc album, I don't know... Can someone help me out and tell me why I shouldn't buy Ready To Die or Life After Death?

I prefered "Life after Death" but than again I don't
know much about rap and hip hop music so it might be
to poppy for someone with an acquired taste.

Having said that, it was a cool album with some very
strong material on it. I wish I still had a copy.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Ready To Die, for sure.

Some of the cuts on Life After Death are actually kinda wack.

The man was paranoid after 2Pac was killed. He was scared about whether someone from Deathrow Records was going to kill him and all that other crap.

I'd say Ready To Die aswell, Cuz of hot tracks like Juicy, Big Papa, Warning, One More Chance.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

I have thought about this pretty hard and i will have to say "Life After Death"
He seemed to be in his element he was king . Its like what Vader told Obiwan "I was the learner but now i am the master " B.I.G was the new master of rap when "Life after Death dropped.

Life after Death, is the Big that everyone will remember. The laid back flow, the Big Poppa image, and the absence of any serious retalitory tracks against Tupac. I don't know what people see in Ready to Die. The remixes are hot, but the original album shipped to stores was only ok.

According to 2pac, Biggie took the whole death-theme idea from him, which forced 2pac change his own album up (which would evenutally be "Me Against The World") so that his album and Biggie's 'Ready To Die' wouldnt sound too much alike. Since Biggie 'killed himself' at the end of Ready To Die ("Suicidal Thoughts" - classic shit), he experienced a "life after death". But yeah after 2pac died, Biggie's paranoia intensified. sad
