Blonde Ambition DVD...2006 release???

hmmm

On 6/14, DrownedMadonna revealed that "Following pressure from the fans, the release of the BA DVD has been discussed and things are looking hopeful this time. Warner Vision now has the rights to the show filmed in Nice, France which was originally used for the Grammy Award winning Laserdisc release" and on 6/22 "Warner Vision in the UK and Australia have both confirmed that they are hoping to release the Blond Ambition Tour on DVD within the next year".

Now it appears that fellow fansite MadonnaOnlineBrazil received similar info. In fact they write that Warner Music has bought the rights to the Blond Ambition Tour from Pioneer and are planning to release the Nice show for the first time on DVD during 2006.

Well this is very interesting news. Is there anyone in the Org who lives in Las Vegas? I ask because, when I was there in July, I read in the local paper there that this tour is one of the shows one of the big casinos (New York New York or Paris?) is going to have as an entertainment feature as an ongoing thing.

I read it and thought maybe it would be an impersonator doing a Cirque du Soleil-type show, but then heard it was going to be the actual concert shown on a jumbo screen (like IMAX). Is there anyone from Vegas who can clarify?

I really dont like the Nice show. While her performance is cool, her vocals are probably the worst ive heard of the whole tour - almost unlistenable. her throat was just fucked by this point and it shows. Why cant they just use the fucking footage from Paris they used on Truth Or Dare. She gave a brilliant performance on those two shows, and her voice was stunning (i have a bootleg audio of this show). Yet again, another half baked attempt at giving the fans what they want. This will serve to be a very poor record of what was perhaps her crowning moment.

It's about time! They've taken too long to put this show on DVD,and many frustrated fans have already bought the many "unofficial" copies that are floating around, such as this one...

Similarly, there are many bootleg DVDs of her 'Re-Invention' shows floating around.

This is cool, but the Japanese Laserdisc would have been a better choice. But I guess something from the BA tour is better than nothing.

As long as it's the entire show, I'll be happy!

Since I got the "Cherish" single in the mail, I've been all about eighties Madonna!

I think i have the Barcelona show on tape somewhere. MTV broadcasted it a few years ago if i'm not mistaken. Why don't they just release this show instead of the supposedly below par Nice performance?
